lesson 1: never leave a blank credit card slip and if you do, make sure its erased or ripped up before you leave.

lesson 2: settle up the tab before you leave and get a reciept for the agreed amount.

lesson 3: never spend $70 PER PERSON for a room. 450 bucks a night? What is it? the presidential suite at the hilton? YOU GOT RIPPED OFF MY FRIEND

It's Wasaga in the high-turn of tourism season. Try renting a cottage for a week right now. Same deal. EXPENSIVE.

1) I never left any blank credit card slips around
2) I agree, that's my fault, but I clearly got scammed and justice has to be served whether it's my fault or not.
3) It's Wasaga Beach, on a long weekend and a cottage. Stop being ignorant and do research before you bring up the money situation.

Irishaddict: Thanks for the help man, I'll let you know how it goes.

if you tore up the blank slip and didnt sign anything agreeing to the charges then you dont owe him a penny. If you did sign a blank slip and failed to rip it up, or left a credit card number but didnt settle the bill when you left, then you have problems. This is what im talking about.

As for $70 a person a night. Thats my point, its wasaga beach. I can get an all inclusive hotel for almost 2 weeks in Mexico for the same price. Which is why i say you got ripped off.

What blank slip? The carbon copy of my credit card you mean? I did sign that I believe. But I won't allow him to get away with what he did.

:stongue: Ya and how much do plane tickets cost to Mexico? If it was so easy to do and good and Wasaga is a BIG rip off, then it wouldn't be packed every long weekend.

actually i just saw mexico all inclusive $730 per person for a week inc flight. (not per night LOL)
Anyways next time settle up before you leave and get that blank slip back from him.

wee bit of a difference there ;)

Also..some people prefer to keep their dollars in the domestic economy.

you said you signed a carbon copy of your credit card which im sure was the deposit. This is the blank slip. You signed it without an amount entered, so he was able to enter his own amount after you left. Its just like handing someone a blank cheque.

im talking value though. it sounds like when everything was done he probably spent $400 on the weekend. Id rather forgo wasaga for 2 weekends and go south where its a better value.

As for the domestic economy. The domestic economy will get my money when it deserves it.

I don't understand why you feel that this country personally owes you anything. I don't think I'm alone when I say I feel very lucky and privileged to live in a country like Canada. Everytime I read your posts there's an underlying cynicism with regard to Canadian politics or laws. If you hate it here so much - isn't it easier to move? And if you're not going to move - why don't you simply turn all of your anger at the laws and politics of this country into something more constructive and attempt to do something to change them? Anyone can jump on an internet forum and bitch and moan about anything and everything but people only really listen when those same people are making a concerted effort to DO something to change what they are concerned about. I'm not trying to start . I just think you'd get a lot less backlash regarding your posts if you started to put your money where your mouth is.
