| hey trance pussies, i heard from some insider sources that aria won't be there for long... the university next to it is planning to buy the building to use it for classrooms... plus too much money was lost from the owners lately... aria will close. |

let me start
1) you just registered to this forum and im gonna make sure you IP is banned today
2) when your signature is : kaka.... that probably means youre just here to joke around and say stupid things...
3) you probably work at circus... since its the best story they found to bullsh*t about our club
4) bookings are signed with djs playing at ARIA for months and months in advance... far from closing we are believe me
5) the university will never get this building... they tried and asked... but nothing more...
6) ARIA will stay open for years... nothin will change ....
7) im manager at ARIA during the week and im one of the main promoters... why would i work in a club thats gonna close soon ?... on the other side... if youre working at c*****, they are goin in court in october.... and that is the reson why they cancelled bookings such as Barbara and Carter... they didnt wanna take the risk to pay deposits and get closed by the cops during the night and loosing that money

i dont even know why im answering to this post...
these are COMPLETLY FALSE STATEMENTS and nobody should worry about arias situation...
we are doin great and the amazing bookings like Deep Dish or Dj Dan will continue for years ahead
hope to see you guys @ ARIA saturday

cuz they dont have the right permits to opperate
their main entrance is not on st-catherine
they have troubles with the neighboors and the sound...
they are under 200 feet away from stereo... which is illegal too
(plz notice that the law concerning the main entrance wasnt affective when ARIA openend... means we are aloud to opperate even if our main entrance is on st-denis)

Obviously I understand your position on this Louis, and I know you've got to do your thang, but I'm going to make a few comments anyway just as an 'observation'. ;)
- Aria just recently had their 4th anniversary party.. that is an impressive feat for any club... BUT.. let us not forget that even the mighty Sona went to after the 4th year (and no, I don't mean after they moved, a few years before) which was the beginning of the end for them.
I'm not trying to compare the 2 clubs, other than my own opinion that while Aria may not close next month, or even in a year, the club has been going downhill for awhile now.. And I know everyone here will assume I am just bitchin' about the techno bookings (lack of) but honestly that is a very small part of the big equation.
clubs come and clubs go.. I think Aria had a good run here in Montreal for awhile, but the last 12-18 months or so I have noticed a change.. the place doesn't draw like it used to either except for the handful of headliners that can pack practically any place here.
If Circus closes I can see the club picking up again.. otherwise I guess we'll just sit back and time will tell how long it sticks around.
Without having privy to financials, it still doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the place is hardly a cash cow nowadays.
anyway.. I love seeing my fav. djs there, so I hope to see more of them. DJ Dan tomorrow!
