but seriously .. by these posts as of late, it looks like the farm system in the dominican republic, cuba, nicaragua, and taiwan have really diminished, compared to 10 years ago ... i remember all the hype back then was about the latino and asian baseball players, such as right now with the european basketball players right now .. and same goes also for the "big godzilla" hideki matsui .
i remember some mlb teams were trying to get ichiro during the mid 90s, but the japanese baseball association kept denying the requests .. seattle finally luckily got him later in 200 or 2001 ??? what if seattle had the team with randy johnson, jay bruhner, griffey jr, edgar martinez, a-rod, and ichiro ?? what a team that would be ..
the european basketball farm system is at the same type of level as the baseball system in latin america 10 years ago .. and just like the latin baseball system, the european basketall hype is starting to fade a little bit, after a couple of busts in the draft .. (excluding tony parker and ginobli ( south american .. :rolleyes: ) or course .. ) |
