| for pscy and hardcore mangled type trance, psycadelic techno etc, imo , Absynth would be better suited than moog modular V. since you have more modulation capabilities ...anyone here disagree ,and prefer the moog? |

| The problem is they won't sound anything like each other - not that one isn't more useful than the other. Absynth is more of a suite (like Reason or Project 5); Moog Modular is a software emulator of the Moog Modular analog synth of the 60's and 70's. |

Absynth will do ganular and FM and works around using lots of envelopes to control different parameters. whereas the Moog is a modular synth based around an alalogue design ie: patchbays and virtual wiring.
I'd hesitate to say, but I think absynth might offer you slightly more sound shaping options just because it isnt limited to a traditional analogue design. Both wold be well suited for psy though. Dont know too much about techno, but I imagine either would be fine. They are both great sounding synths and pretty tweakable.
Maybe check out NI Reaktor too. Will basically do any sort of sound engine you can think of plus theres heaps of user made patches avilable. I remember reading somewhere that a lot of techno producers are fans of reaktor. |
