Well, I guess it's here now, they've shut off part of Birmingham & evacuated it totally due to intelligence and made some controlled explosions. Lot closer to many uktas than the london one this too, only 30 odd miles from me :( what the is going to happen

| controlled explosions have been carried out, they don't think it was a threat now, but it's going to be like this whenever anyone sees a suspect package for the near future imo |

| It's shocking that people have to live their lives like this; constantly worried about bombs and such. What a disgrace the world's turning into. |

The british people will never let it phaze them, we are a hard group of people and none of this will affect how we run our lives :D |

Really sucks. :/
The scale of the evacuation to me suggests they've recieved (hopefully hoax) tip-offs.
Gonna be in the back of my mind when I'm back in Birmo, probably. |

| I have been in Birmingham New Street train station before when there has been a 'suspect package.' About 20 security guards came from out of nowhere. They were hot on the ball, and quickly determined it was just someone's shopping that had been left behind. Scary times. |

it's not only shocking, it's kind of sad really. We have to continually be "on the alert" and "prepared" for ANYTHING that could happen.
I wonder what this world will be like for my kids in about 30 years. |

Our police are the dogs bollocks, cant beat the sight of a bobby on the beat! :-)
Dont want to blow our own trumpet, but the British are strong, very mentally strong, we will rise above this terrorist vermin!
The only thing I had to laugh about what happened on Thursday was coverage of 2 coppers, that have had a few pies running across to Russell Square holding their caps on with one hand and holding their stomach with the other whilst running....looked rather amusing tbh.
Its terrible how things are going to be now... :-( I have never liked using the tube, too compact, too hot, and you can feel the air pressure as you go down the escalators and as trains go past down there.. ing scary man :S |

stay safe when you're there mike. Not all of us have to put up with the threats as we're not all in big cities or places that would be of interest to terrorists, I just agree with what Mike (Ape) said too & Mikey. My main worry lately would be hoaxes.
What really pisses me off is that the suspects for the london one were british born & raised pakistanis. Sickening they can bite the hand off that's given their families a better life :( |
