My first post here ever (VERY LONG!)!

I've gotten into the Trance "scene" on 1998/08/22 and I think it's the best kind of music around! I have some questions about live sets, particularly Ferry Corsten - Live at Trance Energy 2000 on 2000/04/29 and DJ Tiesto - Live at Energy 2000:

1. My version of Ferry Corsten: Live at Trance Energy 2000 is 89 minutes, 30 seconds long. I've seen a 131 minute version on WinMX and Morpheus (where I get my live sets). My question for this one is: What tracks are played in this longer version? Can I have a tracklist if anyone has any? Or, since I'm on a crappy 56K Internet Connection, can someone whose willing to make me a CD-R with the MP3 file on it, can you make me it?

2. I already know that there are 2 versions of DJ Tiesto - Live at Energy 2000 and one's 66 minutes long and the other is 78 minutes long but, I have a problem: I CANNOT FIND THE 78 MINUTE VERSION ANYWHERE NOW! The version I have is 73 minutes, 03 seconds long and I got it from Morpheus (file-sharing programme). It seems like it just cuts off halfway through Binary Finary's 2000 where the music stops for a second (You know where, right??? About 2 minutes into the track.). This can be a MAJOR dissappointment when you have only a 56K connection. Also, if someone's willing to make me a CD-R with the MP3 file on it, can you make me it?

I've just got started in the Live Set "scene" around 2001/10/26 with a 9- hour broadcast recording off of KFC One's 2000/12/31 New Year's EVE Trance Party, which featured some live sets. I've decided to track them down to see what they really sounded like, since the broadcast was recorded at the crappy Bitrate of 22 Kilobit/second and Sampling Rate of 22500 Hz. So, I've downloaded so far: Ferry Corsten: Live at Trance Energy 2000 on 2000/04/29, Paul Van Dyk: Live at Mayday 2000 on 2000/04/30, and DJ Tiesto: Live at Energy 2000 (73 minute version mentioned above). That's about all I have. I need to get DSL or better for fast downloads.

Some more questions about live sets:

1. How are they recorded? I know that if they're being broadcast on the Internet you could just use a programme like Total Recorder or Goldwave to record it but, the sets I have are high quality (CD-quality). Are they recorded on-location with DAT recorders? Those produce CD-quality or better and record for up to 5 hours using 44.1 KHz or 48 KHz Sampling Rate (http://www.tape.com/ sells "DSS" Tapes you can use for regular audio recording for extra long time).

2. Do artists put any of these live sets that circulate the Internet on CDs? If so, which ones?

I'm also looking for some singles as well:
1. Technique: Sun is Shinning
2. Muslimgauze: Gulf Between Us
3. Muslimgauze: Female Iranian Table Tennis Team

Have any of you ever played "Wipeout" for Playstation? The original Wipeout is what got me started in Electronic music. I also like Ambient/Space too. Like Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Synaesthesia, and Brian Eno. Here are some albums I'm looking for by Steve Roach:
Actually, these are just some LONG tracks (over 70 minutes EACH!!!)
1. Dream Circle
2. Slow Heat
3. Somewhere Else
4. The Memory Wheel 1, 2, and 3
5. Revealing The Secret

Here is a list of the mixes I own (not live, these are store-bought CDs):
1. Victor Dinaire: Logic Trance 4
2. Vicious Vic: Capsule (My first mix! Played it to death!)
3. Nicholas Bennison: Trance Global Nation 2
4. Timecode/Moving Shadow: 99.1

This is my favourite Ambient album: TV Victor: Timeless Decceleration. Here's the tracklisting:
CD 1.
01. AGAI - 71 minutes, 01 seconds (!)
CD 2.
01. ALL - 55 minutes, 13 seconds
02. YOU - 10 minutes, 11 seconds
Some people call this type of music "Downtempo" (I mean TV Victor: TD)...

I could ramble all day but, I just want to see what your response is to my first post here. I AM a TRANCE ADDICT!!! HA HA HA! E-mail me if you have any questions at [email protected]

Good Bye!!! :)

Sorry m8, nothing in the terms of a Trance party in Philly. If you are 21+ you can always see Dave Ralph at Evolution once a month. If you get to go to the outlaws around here, there are a couple of heads that play great trance.

Other then that, we have Tiesto next weekend and Judge Jules tomight at Exit. NYC is always worth the trip.

Hit me up on MSN if you ever wnat to hang with a bunch of party kids heads. My friends are all about Breaks and D&B, so I'm on my own with Trance.

PS. No matter which version of Tiesto @ Trance Energy you get a part of it cut off. Sorry, I don't have the tracklisting for the longer one. I'm at work. And Ferry's TE set, I did not save. I'll get it for you if you need.

the 131 minute version has a nice intro and 1 more tune in the beginning and 30 mins of DJ Cross after Ferry Corsten's set

2. as quickstep said, no matter which one you get there's a part cut off :(

usually they are recorded off the radio using total recorder or cool edit and encoded with LAME. there are a few bootlegs which were recorded with mini-disc or something similar cause it doesn't make sense to record a set in DAT quality and encode it to a 160/192kbps mp3...only the livesets you can buy on CD (i.e. DJ Tiesto's Magik 6 - Live in Amsterdam) were recorded with dat recorders

2. Do artists put any of these live sets that circulate the Internet on CDs? If so, which ones?

yes they do...Paul Oakenfold's Goa Mix Silver & Gold was actually broadcasted on Radio 1
