I'm sorry....call me dumb..call me ignorant...call me what you want. But what the hell is SCHRANZ?? I see it everywhere...I've heard one...and it's not really my cup of tea. Can someone please give me the history...or story about how this genre of electronica came to be??

| Yes Schranz has something to do with minimal Techno. It is defined by Chris Liebling, thats all I know. |

| A lot of the stuff you see people describing as techno these days, are actually schranz. Some of it I like, but most of it sounds like a samey mishmash to me. You could try out Picotto's Metamorphose CD which was one of the first CDs that had lots of schranz on it. |

schranz = chris leibing , speedy j, umek
pretty hard , but amazing techno (my favourite!!)
as mentioned is defined by german producers (think it started back in frankfurt in the early 90's) |
