Gorillaz
Demon Days

1. Intro
An instrumental intro with elements from "Dark Earth" from Dawn of the Dead. Nothing special.
****
2. Last Living Souls
2D singing over a heavy basslined version of what sounds like a preset song from an old keyboard with acoustic guitar, piano and violins. So/So.
*****
3. Kids With Guns
2D on the vocals again over another heavy bassline with guitar plucking and additional vocals from Neneh Cherry. Above average.
******
4. O Green World
Opening with heavy bass and techno-style bleeps, the music almost sounds like something from KMFDM. Then it breaks into guitar and 2D on the vocals again. Pretty good.
*******
5. Dirty Harry Featuring Bootie Brown
The music for this sounds kinda like the music from either a porno or one of your classic "blaxploitation" films (Shaft, Dolomite, etc.), then in comes what I think is a childrens choir. Different, and good.
********
6. Feel Good Inc. Featuring De La Soul
In my opinion, the best song on the CD, and it is VERY worthy of that title. With a mix of haunting vocals from, you guessed it, 2D and some great rapping from De La Soul, this song is an awesome cruising song. Amazing.
**********
7. El Manana
Heavy on the piano and acoustic guitar, El Manana sounds like something from Radiohead, but a little more upbeat. Alright
******
8. Every Planet We Reach Is Dead Featuring Ike Turner
Yet again with the porno/blaxploitation style of music, this song stands out on the album for some reason I can't put my finger on, but it's a positive reason. Yet another cruising song.
*********
9. November Has Come Featuring MF Doom
A heavy bass song with some decent rapping from MF Doom and a chorus with more haunting lyrics from 2D.
*******
10. All Alone Featuring Roots Manuva and Martina Topley Bird
All Alone has an elevator music-style beat, but Roots Manuva has always been ridiculous at rapping, and they mesh together in an awesome way.
*********
11. White Light
White Light kinda sounds like something from KMFDM mixed with Nine Inch Nails.
*******
12. DARE Featuring Shaun Ryder and Rosie Wilson
DARE is another of the ridiculously good songs on this CD. It sounds very Madonna/No Doubt-ish. Winamp actually froze up while I was playing this song, it's that good.
**********
13. Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head Featuring Dennis Hopper
Okay, this "song" is very weird. It's pretty much poetry to a beat telling a story of this tribal culture of the "Happy People" being taken over by an industrial culture of the "Strange People". Very interesting.
*******
14. Don't Get Lost In Heaven Featuring The London Community Gospel Choir
With a gospel choir on this track, it sounds like something out of a musical. Different.
******
15. Demon Days Featuring the London Community Gospel Choir
Pretty much the same as Don't Get Lost In Heaven, but with more orchestral music.
******

Overall Rating of the CD: 8/10

VERY GOOD. I reccommend everyone to go out and buy this CD. It's not quite the same as their debut album, but good none the less.
