Anyone else experienced the "trance scene" in the strip bars of Thailand?
Sometimes they play hard house or thai style happy hardcore but allot of them play classic trance hits.
Its funny seeing bikini clad girls bopping to so many classics, i almost want to jump up and dance on stage with them :tongue3
Thought ide post about it while im here ! |

Back in the 'old days' i.e pre-2001 when there were no restrictions, you could hear a lot of trance classics being played in most of the bars at nearly all times. Even the tracklisting was updated frequently.
Haven't been to any of those places in the past 3-4 years so I wouldn't know whats playing now. |

The post early 2001 crackdown that included a minimum age of 20 for all clubs/go-go bars/strip clubs etc. Also, the 2:00 am rule for all night-spots on Sukhumvit/Silom/RCA(1:00 for some)
Back in the day, I was 17 when I first walked into a strip club with no police around at all. Those were the days :D |

Marc van Linden (played at our GTA@Planet Pro Berlin party last weekend) is in BKK on 02.09. and 03.09., playing at Lucifer and Drift.
I can only recommend these dates - quality tunes!
In March Iīve finally been to Narcissus (on a Friday). Nice club, really beautiful, crowd so-so, music ok (a tad too commercial, me thinks). Left at shortly after 2am via taxi, after 500m road block complete with taxi search, us for IDs, pat down etc. Of course didnīt have our IDs with us, but the keycard for the Baiyoke finally convinced them to let us go. None of them did speak english, of course, and I donīt speak thai - quality time. But after about 10mins they let us go again. |

it all went to when the government demanded that the "go-go" dancers started wearing pasties ....
to be honest if you went in these places expecting to hear good tunes you were there for entirely the wrong reasons :P |
