well said my friend.

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND, period.

i am getting sick of people valuating themselves over other people AKA you are the bad guys, you can die, you can still suffer, we are the good guys, we have the right to live, we are innocent. this is what you're saying starsearcher. i'm fed up with all this injustice crap. why nobody cares about the thousands and thousands of innocents dying everyday ? where's the sympathy for them ? yet 50 innocents die in the western world and everybody's shocked and consterned and crap  why don't you do the same for the others ? is it because they're not white ? is it because they're poor and opressed ? I THINK IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T CARE.

Well I dont think its really that people dont care altough it is a part of it. And I dont think you can be mad at people for that, its just natural that when you see a bus or a train being blown up in a modern city, we can relate and imagin how it would be if it happened here.

But mostly when people die from terrorist attacks in the west its because were shocked that this happenes since were not used to deaths like this and people wanting to just blow up others.

Obviously people care that millions die in poorer parts of the world from hunger, disease, war but if you would put each one of them in the news it would take a year for a days news so obviously this wont happen. Its news when less people die from these causes because were so used to it happening anyways.

there are two solutions :
-the stupid one : more attacks on the west so everybody get used to it
-the intelligent one : stop the injustice

well for the intelligent one obviously this somehow has to happen, but this has to be done from inside those countrys, throwing money at them wont help.

Look at all those countrys in the middle east who got billions from oil money but are not doing anything to get better with it. They say they are abused, etc but they got the chance thanks to oil to get so much cash pouring in and use it to build up in other sectors and grow extremely. A chance wich most other African nations never had.

which rich middle eastern oil country says its abused ? those who get petro dollars are not the ones complaining

Depends what prison...some prisons are not such a bad place at all...although overall I would agree with you in most cases.

hmm... whats the worst prison: Abu Ghraib (Iraq) or Guantanamo Bay (Cuba) or one of those old ones from the USSR in Siberia or North Korea or China...

What about the prison the Hells Angels are in with their own pool and who knows what else they got going for them.

Yeah but you could say the same thing about the people abusing them altough in most cases these people should just work to get better instead of killing those that are doing better.

But look at Russia, I mean it was a complete abuse of power and the whole chechen people have nothing left. Altough you cant really say the chechen rebels were angels either. But Russia has so many problems that you cant really give one reason.

Would be nice if people could work together to solve problems... but they just like the extreme side of stuff.

lovely answer if that happens hope they stop calling us "Westeners" because we'd become Le Nouveau Middle East!

Right now we are on the cusp of change throughout the world.

Islam needs to evolve into an enlightened new form. Amina Wadud has taken the most important religious first step. Irshad Manji shows the world that being a Muslim is compatible with being a modern thinker.

The west must step up to the plate and uplift those nations who need uplifting. If there is a drought in the prairies Ontarians and BCers expect to help out. If there is a fishery crisis in the Atlantic Albertans expect to help out.

The Tsunami aid, and the movement towards debt relief in Africa are important steps to recognizing that everyone deserves help, and we are willing to provide it.

At the core of the problem though is the nation state. McDonald's has test markets. The world has test markets too. Canada shows the world that 2 people can live under one roof, be distinct, and have a good time doing it.

The world rocks left, the world rocks right... eventually it rolls foward.
