hey guys,

hope you can help - its probaly something simple im missing..!
when i import a midi file from a track id like to remix, and I assign my own vst to the midi tracks - every time it stops it automatically resets the vst to the preset i was originally on- for instance, if i load up vanguard and want the midi to play the preset - Utopia, it will use this preset once then automatically jump back to the Max Fun lead!!!! annoying or what!???!!!

CAN ANYONE HELP?

Project 7
1double click on the midi,
2then under the paino role theres a little channel thing
3to the right of that there is a drop down box click that and select "program change"
4you should see alot of blue stuff, select it and delete it (note there could be layers, so delete everything)

thats it...

Alternativly:

1: Select the midi track
2: Menu - Midi - List Edit

This will display a list of the times and the program changes as they occur in a kind of "vertical step"/list sequence.

IMHO much better for PC, SysEx and some CC editing.

But as Project 7 suggested, that is a good way for doing it just to delete the program changes.
Subtle
the Project 7 way doesnt work for me, i just copy and paste the notes.. that works 100%

You can also set the midi import preferences so that program change messages are not imported.

Thanks guys - went with Project 7's and it works a treat!!!
All those months of hard work learning and remembering notes are a distant memory....!
