finding temp work in sydney

Hi guys,
I'm currently living in sydney,.. been in australia for about.. well, just over one month now.
Up until yesterday i'd been traveling about and began working in a telesales place on kent street about a week ago - jesus it was horrible!!
So i'm currently unemployed and need something to keep me in beer for the next 3 - 4 months :)
i've been looking on notice boards, the dymocks building on george st, and i've registered with a recruitment agency but they said it'd be a few days before they could see me.
so i decided to look here!
can anybody give me any advice on where to look??
I've been on seek.com.au, and my careey, and i've made a few applications.
any suggestions?

There is a little free magazine called British Balls that is available in most innercity pubs and hostels in Sydney i think.
British Balls is filled with news, sport, gossip, jokes and funny stories from "back home" in Britain, and it caters for the large number of english/scottish/irish tourists in Australia.
Anyway, the mag also has a classified section with job ads and plenty of oppurtunities for work.

*EDIT* Are you interested in bar work?
With a nice strong accent you would probably find it quite easy to find bar work in one of the numerous Irish pubs around the City. In order to work in a bar or any place that serves alcohol you need a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. The course takes about 8 hours and it is fairly easy to do. It costs around $70 i think.
From memnory, i did my RSA course at a place on Level 9 of the Dymocks Building, and there were plenty of backpackers doing the course when i went.

haha, i'm in the dymocks building right now availing of the free internet access :)
level 7 - i did the green card / site safety pass there a few weeks ago..
not sure if i'll use it or not, but there's no harm in having it i guess!!
pretty skint at the minute.. and i just spent a whpooing $75 on the ugliest pair of steel toe boots on earth!!
might be doing some furniture removal work.. $16 / hour, but the bastards done have anything yet, but i guess i'm better prepared...
