Sure, RJ made some sort of hierarchy of the terms but I generally use "kissing" "sucking" and "licking" interchangeably when it comes to buttering someone up. People consider me a brown-noser (even though my nose is naturally brown :p) but when I compliment someone it's always with 100% sincerity; because "kissing up" generally is understood to be insincere (which I am not) so I play along, but I don't think I truly "suck ass"....although saying "you SUCK ASS" is a whole different meaning altogether!!! :p
And Lisa, I love it when you talk dirty...:p

sucking ass is not an amalgam of these two terms. sucking ass means sucking more than regular sucking.
