which synth do you like and use the most? hardware and software
i use pro-53 and it's very cool, but im also very new to this, so the sounds i create sound like poopoo
any suggestions?
ps: ive heard numerous things about a virus c, and i'm trying to save my money this summer to afford a c or ti. if you could afford it, which TI would you buy, the regular desktop synth, the keyboard version, or the polar? |

I think the Virus is too complicated a first synth to learn on. Then again there are enough great patches on the web that you may decide never to program it yourself. This thread comes up often. Here are my picks for a combination of great sound, affordability and ease of use.
Hardware
Roland JP8000
Novation K Station
Quasimidi Sirius
Software (Commercial)
Refx Vanguard
NI Pro 53
Gmedia Imposcar
Software (Free)
Triangle II
Linplug Free Alpha
Ugo Texture and Motion
Nord leads have no effects. MS2000s and MicroKorgs have low polyphony. Alesis Micron has too few knobs. Alesis Ion and Oberheim OB12 are some ggod picks for intermediate users. Virus and Waldorf Q would be for more advanced programmers. |
