Write to the Mayor to have WEMF back in Orangeville next year....

I just wrote a very nice letter to the Mayor about having WEMF back in Orangeville next year...This venue was THE best and I would really like to go there again next year so EVERYONE get off your asses and write...THere was one negative letter and 2 POSITIVE letters written to the editor of the Orangeville Citizen and so I feel that if enough people (from all over the country who attended WEMF would be great) then maybe the town council will be slightly persuaded to invite WEMF back.I'm sure that the lessons learned this year (re: stolen SUV & security) will bring about a better WEMF 2006 so get your pens warmed up;)

I may write a letter...
If there's no WEMF next year, it will break my streak of having plenty of room to dance at Guv for at least one saturday night of the year :p
seriously though...come on people...especially those who enjoy WEMF...everyone bitches about whiners f**king over events, clubs, etc. Now's your chance to do something about it! |

Obviously people won't be "cracked out" if/when they write to the Mayor:rolleyes:...If enough people write to show their gratitude instead of whinning that WEMF 2006's location is then maybe they'll have WEMF back next year.Ya gotta be diplomatic when you write these letters people.So if you just sit on your asses & write negative crap on this thread instead of writing to the Mayor then don't cry to Destiny when next year's WEMF is in places like Tweed :nervous: |

I think that a side benefit of writing letters would be to dispel the b.s. media myth that all partiers are just cracked out losers.
I enjoy looking around at my crew and fellow TAs at parties...and seeing successful business owners, graduate students, and genuinely good people...all sharing a common interest in EDM. These are not the dregs of society as some people would like to believe.
The mayor could benefit from seeing that side of the scene...instead of just getting letters from some uptight, sheltered, and SELFISH residents who can't give up the odd night or weekend of the entire year for *thousands* of other people to have a good time.
So send a letter...and be sure to point out that you're not some stereotypical "cracked out Toronto raver" (unless you are, of course, lol) and point out the economic benefits of having the event there. |
