FL Studio Template - Parallel Compression
View this Thread in Original format
Dave West
This is a simple FL Studio project file that demonstrates using the technique known as Parallel or Invisible compression on a kick drum. It also demonstrates the bussing and compression of both kick and bass as discussed in another thread.

It uses the Fruity DNC Kick sample a TS404 for a very simple bassline, so no external samples are required. The various settings are of course starting points, so take it from there.

Now if you feel for any reason that all of this is wrong and I'm talking out of my arse - remember that downloading and using this is NOT compulsory.

Also, if you reckon you've got a better way of doing it - then instead of just whinging and moaning, share your techinque with the rest of us. After all, this whole exercise is about the exchange of useful information.

bad day huh??? :D :D

nice.. i used this technique in reason but i found out how to do it in fl a few days ago. (and i use fl for 2 years lol :whip: )

but you need to be careful cuz if you change the volume of the kick for example the aqmount of compression in every sound of the submix changes. very tricky.. like mastering compression.

I like the kick. It has a punchy but not too much of a sound. gj
