Just kidding, gosh! I haven't read CORe for a while, so I don't know much about the people who post here. I mostly just read the stuff in Music Discussion! |

I guess you're talking about the thing where the people made fun of the person. Well, even I found that to be...appalling. :D
If not, everything else is normal. |

That, among other things, is exactly what I'm talking about. Things went a bit too far, regardless of the circumstances. |

Funny story about this 40year+ guy that comes into my work.
His dad is a municipal county judge, and his mom is nice. They kicked him out of their house because he was a 30 year old leech. (Chris Elliot anyone?) So this guy has a few options...get a job and a place? no, why take that option because he can go live with his grandma!
Thats right, this loser moved in with his grandma, but the fun doesn't end there. The guy can't hold down a job because he is also a "compulsive gambler". He wastes all his money on scratch-off lottery tickets (his money is a weekly allowance, paid for by his dad, the judge). However, this doesn't last him long enough. Over the last two years, this bag has been stealing and/or editing his grandmas checks, cashing them at our grocer (the grandma actually okay'd this, though all of us feel despicable about it) which we accept because the family has been loyal shoppers for almost the length of our store's life (69 [heh] years).
So recently, the guy came in to cash a check with a girl cashier, who thought nothing of it because the bag is always cashing in checks. However, this check was from an old account of his, long since closed, and bounced. The wad took 50 dollars worth of scratch off lottery tickets and left. We got stuck with the fee of course.
Or, did we? Today, his poor grandma came into our store. After buying some goods, my boss tracked her down and explained the whole scenario, asking for his phone number (The number on the check had been disconnected for so long that it was reactivated for someone else). The grandma burst into tears, creating quite an uncomfortable scene for all of us. The grandma, mother, and father are all amazingly kind and amicable people. Adding to the difficulty here; the Grandma's house recently caught on fire Fourth of July weekend, and she has been living at a hotel while insurers assess the damage and repairs are done. She told my boss the grandson was recently put into some kind of rehab group, but we have no details (the man looks like a habitual drug abuser, not just a casual user. The group could also be for compulsive gambling). The grandma paid for the bounced check out of her own pocket, and left obviously quite embarassed.
Yup, thats my fun story of today... |

Understatement alert.
It went waaaaaaaay too far. I've seen a fair few people banned on other sites for stuff tamer than that. I agree, there have been a couple of things I've seen around here that sank pretty low. Thankfully, for the worst incidence (that pic in the Vive la France thread), the perp was banned.
I for one try to be mature, but I'm human. I muck it up. And I sincerely apologise if I offended anyone. :happy2: |
