Amateurs drink 'til they're throwing up and passed out on somebody's lawn, and too trashed to even have a glass of cold water before they hit the hay. Then they get hangovers.

Proper hosing means cutting it off when you're drunk enough to pick fights with homeless people but not quite drunk enough to snort the crack you find on their mangled bodies. The people who think that "enough" = "passed out", are amateurs.

This is not true. Anyone who knows me when I really decide to get myself smashed knows that I can have an astronomical amount of alcohol in me and always manage to both find my own way home and get myself out of almost any bad situation that finds me without marks or scars [except maybe the occasional UPI (unidentified party incident)]. Alcohol hits everyone differently, some people get drunk and angry after 6 beers, other people like me lose their memory after that long but not their self control, but by no means do that mean you've had 'enough' at one of these points. I know for a fact that my limit is before I puke because my stomach is too strong for it's own good, so setting these arbitrary events as the limit of 'too much' does not make any sense.

Perhaps what you meant to say is that your limit is a point when the alcohol changes something about you or does something to your that you don't like, but that point in itself is different for everyone.

I don't get hung over either - and don't even try to tell me I haven't
consumed enough in a single night.

Sometimes after heavily drinking and mixing I'm a bit hazy the next morning... however, a jog, shower and coffee takes care of that right away.

Mind you, I am of British ancestry and 6'2.

No real bad stories but for me I hated this one..
Went out clubbing a few summers ago on a hot hot night with a friend and decided I was going to mix a bunch of drinks. We were hungry so then we went to grab some pizza. Got home layed in bed and the whole room was spinning for almost two hours while the pizza really wanted to get out of my stomach. Anyway I ended up messing up my all my sheets from the pizza..and was breaking out in hot flashes because it was so hot that night. Thought I was going to pass out and thought death would be better at that time.
The worst stories are the ones from doing E :nervous:

my cure for a hangover is usually 3 glasses of water before going to bed, shower in the morning, a big breakfast with untoasted fresh bread. [fresh because older bread is too dry], and gatorade in the morning.

gatorade and water replenish the fluids I pissed out the night before, the bread is complex for the intestinal system to break down so it drags all the polluted blood away from my brain and a hell of a lot closer to the liver...

No Cale, some of us just can handle ourselves better! ;)

Plus some of us don't be mixing up (which happens to be a key ingredient in puking and massive trauma headaches the next day).

I can drink a load, LOL, but so long as its better, I'll never see a hangover.

Not to say I havent had one before, prolly had 3-4 with 1 excruciatingly bad one in 2nd year university!

Excessive beer for me simply = no hangover.... I'm just lucky I guess. :D

Aye!!

I mean drinking enough booze to get a hangover. Not to be passing out and puking everywhere.

Am I being referred to as an amateur drinker?

So you're saying, if we don't get hangovers then we're not drinking enough to get hangovers. Wow, that's profound. ;)

The *one* time I woke up hung over, my cure was a couple of beers. Worked like a charm.

Alcohol sucks. Few things do more damage to your kidneys and liver than alcohol. Be it whiskey, wine, or moonshine. And most people agree that the damage it not reversible. So think about that as you lay on the bathroom floor.

I just see absolutely no point whatso ever in alcohol....And this media-driven fallacy that a glass of wine per day is healthy doesn't count because the benefits are negligible and it means only ONE per day.

Sorry. That was my rant for the day.

I do know what the damages are of alcohol...I don't drink very often at all though...once a week...if that...I personally don't really like the taste of it at all, so I only drink if I'm planning on getting drunk.
I do know it's bad for you though...but so are a lot of things I do! Haha
