Clubs in T.O. not playing TRANCE! (pg. 2)

I agree with you one hundred percent Peekster. Where the hell are all of the trance clubs? My other quam with the trance scence in Toronto is that whenever we do get big names like PVD, Tiesto and recenctly Jules, they feel the need to play so goddamm progressive, that it sounds more like techno than anything else. Why? I talked to a number of people at Guvernment that night (Jules) who agreed with me and simply stated: we want to hear some trance! Hard, deep, melodic trance. AVB rocked, so he is excused from this, but come on guys. We go and see them on the basis of what we hear from thier live sets from Holland and England. If I had the dollar I would definitely open up a serious trance club. A high end, expensive as hell, clean, aesthetically pleasing club. The only problem here is that trance does generally promote some form of hard narcotic use and people tend to get sloppy and the place ends up looking like ass. Anyways, there is no reason why we can't have a smaller, groovier loungy club that plays some hard, deep and sexy trance. Is anyone with me?

You get the $$$ and open up a club, and I'll bring in the big names to play there once a month or so... otherwise, we're all f00ked, and the only thing left is to follow my steps and move back to Europe as soon as possible (for me it's as soon as I finish school here)...

But the sad fact is that the progressive is taking over this whole continent, and there isn't that many of us, hardcore trance lovers, that would fill up a club every friday/saturday/whatever... But there is still a hope... for better tomorrow :D:D

ok i have a confession to make...over the last few months my interest in trance uplifting music has slowly died simply becasue the quality of truly epic trance has not been like it was before. Honestly i don't mind going to a club and hearing deep house and progressive trax...there are so many killer progressive trax out there which make me move just like the good ole 'hands in the air' uplifting trance did. The truth is that progressive is whats big these days and while that trend lasts i don't think there will be dj's spinning only trance in clubs. anyway, 20th is looking really good...hope 2 see u all there !!! i'll be the 6'5 guy dancing away to wareen's beatz !!! :)

no fence but tiesto doesn't know how 2 make progressive...comparing him 2 other progressive maters such as nick warren is funny man :p tiesto should stick 2 his own style like he did in da old days, when i luved his sets, not like right now
sohaness
nick warren is not the be all and end all of progressive.

steve.
DJ MG
John Creamer & Stephane K are the :)they make the best Prog/Tribal remixs :D
TranceGeek
blue_neon, if you like nick warren so much, why not ask him out on a date? :D

seriously, i dont think you should diss tiesto like that... i think he's proved he's a much better producer than nick warren, even though they don't spin the same type of trance...
Kalemic
Looks at thread.

*cough*

"My subjective opinion is better than your subjective opinion so, na na na na"
sohaness
i think what kalemic said is true, all these opinions are highly subjective, but i disagree with trancegeek, i think that nick warren is a much better producer than tiesto.

that's just my opinion though.

are you all still looking for a place to listen to trance on a friday night?
i've been to area 51 and guvernment, i'm not liking the prog. trance these days either
or the dark cd stuff coming out of area on saturdays
i know the owner of area a bit so i can probably get a gig there

i was wondering if you guys would come out for some uplifting, powerfull and hard trance on a friday night at area.

i spin a style close to tiestos old style, in fact i play a lot of the same tunes as he does or did

i want to play at area if there's a lot of love
i don't like it when there's an empty floor, like there is at area sometimes

what do you guys think?
how much of you guys would be there?
TranceGeek
sohaness, i like nick warren's productions, he has some really good tracks, but tiesto's productions are simply much better... he has produced so many tracks and remixes that its not even funny...
