Believe me, I know how hard it can be as an up and coming DJ. That’s why Paradigm United focuses on giving those bedroom DJs and artists the opportunity to get some much needed exposure. Well, this could be the big break you’ve been looking for...
This is your chance to finally play at one of Ontario’s biggest and best Trance clubs in front of 1000 bouncing party people! Think you’ve got what it takes? Prove it!
We’re looking for an exclusive demo to be evaluated by some of Paradigm’s leading artists. We want your best creativity, originality, and favourite cutting edge tracks to blow our socks off.
Details of First Place:
1. If your demo is selected as the winning set, you will play alongside Toronto’s favourite resident, Mark Oliver, and one of Paradigm’s founders, Tim Penner (aka DJ Tygon) at an event in September (note: this will be an un-paid gig).
2. Winner will get 5 free guest passes for this event for their friends
3. Top 5 finalists will have their sets played by DJ Ampz on his weekly radio broadcast of ETN.fm and Party107 once the competition is complete.
4. Top 5 finalists will have the opportunity to join the Paradigm United team as a signed ‘up and coming’ artist to be considered for our future events.
Rules:
Deadline for mixes: August 13th, 2005 11:59pm... NO exceptions...
1. All sets must be recorded LIVE by means of Vinyl, CD, or Final Scratch. Any sign of editing or manipulating your set will result in immediate disqualification.
2. Since Viva Nightclub is 100% Trance, your demo must be some sort of variation of this genre. We have the right to exclude any demos that don’t appropriately suit this genre.
3. You may submit only ONE demo, regardless of how many stage names you may have.
4. You may NOT be a resident at any club… period. This competition is for up and comers ONLY.
5. Your demo must be as close to 60 minutes in length as possible. Anything over the 60 min mark my not be considered/heard.
6. Mixes must be submitted with a track list.
7. Mixes MUST be submitted by the cutoff date: August 13th, 2005 11:59pm... No exceptions...
8. If you would like to drop your demo off to us personally, please come by Viva Nightclub on a Friday night or at one of our other events during the week.
9. Mixes that are submitted from an online source must be done as a ZIP file (including your track list and mp3 at 192kbps 44khz) by one of the following means: www.yousendit.com [THIS IS THE PREFERRED METHOD], but if you must... direct link from a PERSONAL web site, or FTP site are acceptable. Just be very specific with your links and make it easy on us.
