So I officially became a United States citizen today!!! I took the oath at 1 pm EST, and tomorrow I will be in NYC all day getting my passport. No more visas and weird looks from airport officials from my old passport. Woot for being American!!:D :D :D

my parents want me to become one :( i allready have a greencard and i really dont want to be a citizen. but i think theyll make me :(

oooohhhhh, POOR YOU you're being FORCED into being a citizen.. u know how many illegals (and even ppl with green cards) would Love to be in your position, nachos?! the hell is so bad about being a citizen anyways? you can travel more freely for sure, for one. in this day and age, lord knows this country's gone ape about residents, aliens and citizens.. :wtf:

i lose my guatemala passport. i dont lose my citizenship from my country but my passport :(

i can NOT travel more freely. i would have to pay everytime i go to every country preatty much in latin america. unlike my gautemala passport which i dont pay anything or need visas. now ill need a visa everytime i go somewhere.

how can that be? for example, i have my italian citizenship And american citizenship; therefore, i have passports for both the EU and the US. if you're a citizen for another country, you should be completely free to continue to have a passport for that country. so what da dilly yo?

im a citenzenship from like 2 countries allready. u can only be of 2 in my country. so if i get a 3rd i lose it :(
