I just bought the imac g5, and installed logic pro 7 onto it. When i tried to play the demo song, an error message came up as "CoreAudio : Disk is too slow or System Overload" I'm pretty sure that the computer is not too slow, I even added another 1 gb of ram to it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Please help, thanks.

I'll need more details about the computer!

Go to apple (top left of desktop) --> system preferences ---> energy saver, and then click the options tab. Set the processor performance to highest. If these instructions are a little warped, sorry, but I don't have a mac in front of me right now.

On the iMac g5 I'm using, with 2 ghz processor and 1 GB of ram, I can get that message sometimes even with the option above changed, but if you "added" another 1 gig stick to whatever (512?) it came with... you should be fine.

I've never used Logic on a Mac before, but when it happens on my PC, it either means your buffer is too big or your audio drivers are not that great. Or God forbid, both. :nervous:

I wonder if they make ASIO4All for Mac? Coz if they do, you should get it. It worked much better for Logic than my comp's native PC AV drivers. :)

Granted, mine is an older version.:o

Change your buffer to 512 samples or more...

thanks for all the help.. i tried everything, went to the mac support to ask questions and even did hours of research. I eventually gave up and took the computer back to the store to exchange it for a new one and havent had any problems. I guess i'll never know what the problem was, maybe just a faulty computer.
