Don't tell him he has your vote. He'll almost immediately throw that away. Why bother helping someone who you know is going to vote for you anyways? That's lost effort on 'potential voters'.
You're on the right track though. If you want help re-phrasing your letter I'd be glad to do so. I've been writing persuasive essays through 3 years of university haha, I think I know some of the tricks.
Also, you should consider making this into a petition of some sort. Large amounts of signatures of potential voters are SCARY to politicians. The more people he sees who agree with you, the more incentive it is for him to do something about it.

But really, for us to have a leg to stand on in front of all the politics, I think we need to know a little more about the noise bylaws first. |

I'll do a re-write of the letter, or redo it as the header for a petition if ya'll want.
I may be an engineer, but I do have 'a way with words', and I can write a little more formally than I've shown either on these boards or in the plumbline. |

give me some info on the noise by-laws when you're done researching. I wouldn't want to write anything about it until I've got at least some idea of what I'm up against with the laws. I'd also like to have some word on indeed how loud it is on the islands during a night at the docks, or a late party going on on the skybar, is there anywhere where I can get that kind of information? Have the islanders done any kind of tests on the decibel levels during their times of complaint?

| awesome well i'm glad i've sparked something. I had already sent my letter off this morning. I woke up and I just was fed up with all this crap and I needed to send something for my own sastisfaction. But if there if there is anything I can help you guys to do to further this subject just let me know! It's the least I could do. I agree with you though, more research is a very good idea:) |
