TTX-1 help

A friend of mine just got some TTX-1's (used) and they work great except that the tonearm doesn't stay connected to the tonearm base.. I don't know how to really describe it, but there's nothing to secure it. So the tonearm just wobbles around making it not safe to play records obviously. And the lever where you can lift the tonearm doesn't touch the tonearm, even though we've tried adjusting the height and everything.

This is happening on both decks too.. are they both broken or is there something we're doing wrong?

Thanks
Ygrene
Go to NUMARK.COM

Click support.

Click manuals.

Select TTX1 and go to page 10 and start from there.

Thanks, but that's not the problem. The tonearm won't stay connected to the deck.

do you have a warenty on the product? u can buy a new tonearm im sure, ask numark about it.
djkoolaide
Possible, but I don't think it's a problem with the tonearm itself.. it's just this part that lifts up and wobbles. There is no way that we can find to secure it to the base.

I'll try to get pics of it tomorrow when I go over there again.

Hey guyz, sup Kool...i was the one that bought the TTX1's and like Kool said... the part where the Tonearm pivits is where we are confused at. is the WHOLE toneare assembley supposed to come out of it's pivit base?
don_q
^^I not sure, but I don't think so. In mine(new) it came already preinstalled/assembled; the tonearm base.

Good luck

the tone arm connects in the same way that the headshell connects with that thing that twists to lock it in it sounds like something is broke if its not working but i think its very unlikely that both decks r broke with exactly the same problem.
As for that lever that lifts the tonearm it lifts when the tonearm is positioned on the vinyl r u trying to lift it in the starting position?
DJ Q
no...it's abbout 2 mm off from touching the Tonearm
Spirit5
It sounds like the levers are broken, you probably need to call Numark's parts department and find out if a new one can be ordered.

i was looking at my TTX1's this morning and i found out why the lever was not touching the tonearm, it's because the wires inside the tonearm pivit base are in the way, it's makeing the tonearm higher than it's supposed to be... but....i still don't know y the tonearm assembly just comes out of it's pivit base....
