so what do i have to worry about? right? I mean i am kinda nervous because its expensive and i thought it was illegal in the US? Is this not the original one?
here it is again

Absinthe has been illegal in America since 1912. That site's address is based in NY. If you buy it from that site, the worst that'll happen is you will get high priced alcohol. It's 136 proof, which is pretty strong. IMO, don't buy it. There are much better and cheaper highs. My advice if you want something legal: DXM ;)

I'd see if you can find a site from out of the country, but then you have a higher risk of them not sending you anything.

Link didn't work for me but absinthe will only make you really ed up aka hallucinate if it has thujone and that's what is illegal in the U.S. no online site will ship here.
Mr. Pink
I've had friends order it.....they did it from the USA, and ordered it from PRAGUE, supposedly where the best is from.

but i dont really know, that's just something some one told me.:wtf:

anywayz, it got to the states just fine and i even had the pleasure of taking 3 shots of it. :tongue2

very happy drunk :)

Absinthe is a controlled substance which means they won't just confiscate it if you try to bring it through customs undeclared you'll probably be fined and/or arrested at the airport. the only let like foods and veggies get confiscated, everything else you have to answer for. Some companies do sell it in the US but i've never actually found any myself WITH THUJONE.

Erowid's contribution:

In the United States of America, absinthe was originally banned by Food Inspection Decision 147 in 1912. Now, thujone is banned as a food additive according to Section 801A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of August, 1972. Wormwood was included on a list of unsafe herbs which the FDA released in 1975.

The European Community Codex Committee on Food Additives has restricted the levels of thujone to 0.5 ppm (mg/kg) in food and beverages, 10 ppm (mg/kg) in alcoholic beverages containing more than 25% alcohol, 5 ppm (mg/kg) in weaker alcoholic beverages, and 35 ppm in bitters. Absinthe was banned in Belgium in 1905, in Switzerland in 1907, in Italy in 1913, and in France in 1915.

Absinthe (made with wormwood) is still available in Spain (contrary to Pendell (1995)) and reportedly in Denmark, Andorra, and Portugal as well. It has also recently become popular in the Czech Republic under the brand name "Hill's Absinth."

EDIT: from personal experience i've had it twice. once with a girl who brought it over from israel and a few of us drank it, she got it through the customs but at a risk obviously. the second time i had one without thujone, it was just really bitter undiluted and got me and my cousin a bit tipsy. It tastes pretty good mixed with some sugar and water and looks kick ass when burned the old school way.

The Absinth King Gold 70cl has 100 mg/kg of thujone vs 30mg/kg of Thujone in the Logan Fill Suisse La Blanche. The price is 183 vs 149, shipping would be cheaper obviously from NYC. After reading both websites for a while it's really hard to decide which one is better.

In the U.S., thujone is still banned, but as a food rather than a drug. You aren't allowed to distil or commercially make absinthe, but you can legally own a bottle and even make your own as long as it isn't distilled. And don't worry; we don't think the Feds will shoot a stun grenade through your window for placing a little online order. They're too busy looking for Osama and Saddam.

hehehe... me = purchase asap. lol

Meh, that stuff is quite overrated tbh. You can just pick up a bottle in the liquor store here in the Netherlands (been legal for a few months now)(55% or 74% ones), and the only thing that happens is the usual, you get hammered sickly quick (which is good in the end anyway, but still).
Never had any hallucinations or whatever, which is a shame :o

I have ordered Absinthe on-line.... Absinthe24 I think was the site. 40 Euros a bottle (800ml) plus delivery. Absinthe is now my sipping beverage of choice!

FYI, Absinthe, with the thujone, is not illegal in the US. It is not legal for sale but it is perfectly legal to import for personal use. If you want to avoid customs proplems I would recommend that you only import a few bottles at a time.

For any Candians reading this you should note that Absinthe has never been illegal in Canada. You can have it legally shipped here. That being said, the only provinces you can buy it at a liquor store in are BC and Alberta. If you are considering getting some I recommend that you order it on-line as the stuff sold in BC and Alberta only contains 5mg of thujone and 50% alcohol.... essentially it is a weak watered down version of the real thing. Oh, and the stuff sold in Ontario (LCBO) contains no thujone as it is brewed/distilled using a different type of wormwood then the real thing.

so the more thujone the more stronger it will be so you will hallucinate right?

It really is a good drink to sit down and relax with. Mix it with water and sugar.

Thujone is the hallucinigenic ingredient and the hight the thujone the better the experience. However, you should note, the hallucinations from Absinthe are not intense. Don't expect to see that isn't there, more then anything your depth perception gets ed up and you'll likely see tracers. The visuals are nothing compared with shrooms or peyote. If all your interested in is the hallucinations then you'll likely be disappointed. If you're interested in getting really pissed up or just enjoying a nice drink then you'll enjoy.
