just got back from this little event, and since it was totally kickass, thought i'd start a post for followup on it
i took a load of pics, and i'll update my site tomorrow, and link it here; i saw a hella lot of digital cameras out there, so i'm assuming everyone has a lot of pics too
anybody able to make up a tracklist for the evening? there were a lot of songs i recognized, just couldn't keep track of everything because i bloody stayed there 7 hours...
all in all, fantastic evening. oakie played arcadia, my favorite song, so i was going nuts. and AVB's my fav dj, so this is no doubt one of the best nights of the summer
was able to get cd and ticket signed too, and i would have gotten a picture with him, if only i didn't up. i tried to take it myself, but just got a quarter of my face, and half of armin's. .

wow.
got there a little late, a few minutes past 11.
oakey, i am surprised to say, did a good job.
the beginning of his set was ok, but then it really picked up.
more then what i expected.
armin, well, he has never let me down live.
didn't stay long; brother had to work the next day.
left around 2ish. great night, haven't had that much fun in a long time.
playlist, well. i have been out of the loop for a while now, but i recognized some of the older tunes that they threw down.
will have to go through my collection later.
is anybody else still kind of deaf. i was hanging out on the left side speaker, and i am still hearing buzzing sound.
great seeing you peeps again.

That was crazy. If I didnt have to be at work in 15 minutes I'd go more in detail but here were the highlights for me:
-walking into the backroom to plug in a CDJ I was switching out for mine to eject the CD, and Junkie XL and Oakey being in there. Oakey's a damn dick and a julio..but I thought that was funny. Junkie XL is a cool dude.
-Junkie XLs performance...what can I say, he really knows how to get the crowd into it. I was taking notes.
-Oakey playing Arcadia...I'll give him that. Then he sped it up and I went into the VIP area where I nearly ran into Armin coming around the corner.
-Being up front during Armin set and some of the crazy antics Architect might remember more than me. such as:
--Jumping up on the stage a half second when Armin dropped Communication 3
--Jumping and sprinting across the stage to get Architechts CDs signed.
-Getting the other CDJ 1000 signed also (he singed the first one at the Gatsby last year)
-Heading to the 4 Seasons hotel where Armin and the owner of Armada Records happened to be staying as well. The afterparty was a whole nother story that would have to be retold as there was much drinking going on.
Compared to my day to day life of working in a damn grocery store I wonder how chance instances happen like this. hehe, was a great night though...good to meet all the TAs I did. |

| Damn i had a blast! I caught the tail end of randall jones set. all i can remember was the he played punk. Junkie really surprised me, and tore it up. I loved how he interacted with the crowd and was jumping up and down. The oakie came on and did his thing. All i can remmeber him playing was arcadia, eighties, and children of the sun<---that tore it up big time and he played sweet sorrow(thrillseekers mix) . then armin came on and rocked it. i know he played air for life, eye wall-bad deal(R&R mix) and that about it. the only bad thing i got to say is, it was ing hot. with the amount of people there they should have at least rented some acs or gave out free water. but all in a ll it was an awsome night. |

Yea, no kidding dude. there came a point where i felt like i was going to pass out; i had to get away from the dance floor and get about 4 bottles of water. there's an unfortunate waste of 12 bucks.
damnit though. i bought vip tickets, but it turned out to be pretty worthless until i read that matthias was in vip lounge and chilled out with oakie and junkie xl. if only i knew when?!
i can ID a couple more tracks that armin played, but i've gotta sift through my stuff first.

| LOL thats me and my girlfriend on the 7th picture on the far right... shes in the teal shirt with gems on it and im behind her looking down with the plaid shirt and light blue undershirt.. i swear my ears finally felt better at like 8pm last night. i have never been so sweaty in my life, i spent like 25 bucks on water that night. damn club and their 3 dollar waters. |
