Hello,
Been quite stuck with this track for a long time now, cant really advance on it.
This is (almost) the full track, the basic layout of it anyways, but there are very little effects on it, so its pretty much the basics; beat, bass, pads, synth so far.
Need to know what can be improve, tips on what to add, how to fill the spaces and whatever comments you might have about it.

let me put you out of your mysery for a bit :).
wow, nice tune, it's really great to go back to basics once in a while, with todays overload of sounds. Only therefore this is original imo. The track sounds pretty complete to me, I don't think it lacks something. Uplifting as a track can be, lots of energy! good work man!
keep it up!
btw, love your site, nice layout with cool stuff on it =)
ps: sorry I can't really comment on things you might change

thanks, appriciate it :)
glad you liked the song as it is, but I do feel it needs more poking at...and I would need a push in the right direction, but thanks for the comment anyway.
also glad you enjoyed my site, hope you had a good time there.

That kick is very poor, the whole intro is quite a turn-off to be honest. It's sad, because once you get things going in the second half of the song it sounds really good. Actually better than that.
Nice percussion, synths and melodies. I like it a lot :) |

yeah, the kick sounds hollow right? Im having trouble getting that deep pounding sound on it.
the intro/song isnt done...and maybe its only the intro that needs some extra elements...?
but im glad you like the second half!

hey!
maybe you could wokr on the buildup! the track is a bit short imo!
also i'm not a big fan of this bass sound!
lead sound and melody is really cool!
kick needs definately some work! i think compression is the way to go...
maybe you could add some more percussion-elements, which underline the bass, to bring a better drive into the track...
also a nice little counter mellow would sound great in the mainpart...
hope this helps a bit!

thanks for the comment, appriciate it.
yes, the track is short, and not complete, just the basic layout, just trying to find the right elements and then prolong it.
regarding the kick, I dont know what you mean by compression? Im using Reason, is compression something I can control from there and if so, how? or is it in the mastering process, and if so, after the mixdown, how can I control the compression of kick exclusivly?
"also a nice little counter mellow would sound great in the mainpart..."
this sounds interesting, but I dont know what you mean..counter mellow? when you say "mainpart" do you mean when the song is in "full bloom"? if you could please explain further what you mean by counter mellow I would love it.
percussion elements? like a bongo-drum or a rimshot/hit-hat that goes together/the same with the bass? |

dont know if compression works in reason! instead you can try to increase the amp of the kick...
yes you're right! with mainpart i mean the track in it's 'full-bloom'!
counter-melody does mean a little melody which underlines the actual mainlead...
trying to show it:
xXxx xXxX xXxx xXxX <- mainlead
yyYY YyYy yyYY YyYy <- counterlead
hopes this demonstrates what i mean...i guess it doesnt! :D
and yes, such as bongos, congas, toms and so on... |

ok..hmm..the kick was poor before, then I changed it to a more fuller sound by EQ:ing the bass and increasing the volume(amp?) but apparantly that didnt work, so maybe I need a new sample.
ok, I think I understand...when you type X as a capital letter is that when a note hits and a small x is when the note is silent?
so when you type two capital YY's below to small xx's, is that the counterlead playing notes when the mainled is silent?
or are the small and capital letters just showing the volume of each note? |

i knew it doesnt come out clear! ^^
here's a sample, which shows what i mean:
Demo
you've got the mainlead and a melody which is playing just at some parts over the mainlead! that's the countermellow! ;) |
