christian bookstores also sell musik. it waas something called, "Ultrabeat" from some guy in sweden. every song was gay. cheesy, the guy sung in every song, and his voice wasnt either. anyways, its best with trance to have minimal lyrics, and at that beautiful, soft, female vocals. exception, underworld, and a few other artists. |
Well thats all quite scary... also the fact that you are visiting strictly christian bookstores... talk about open mindness and hmmmm where the hell are there christian bookstores?:conf: |

I'm a Christian. I listen to trance (and other types of EDM, too). Does that mean I'm hell-bound?? NO.
People have done this to all sorts of music over the years... metal, rock 'n' roll, hell, even waltz music was considered risqué when it first showed up in the mid 19th century.
I have no problem with Christian music - look at the source - but to write off any whole genre of music as being evil is wrong, and about as un-Biblical as these hardliner types' theory that say dancing is evil, when dancing is actually encouraged in the Bible.
In fact, it says that the wife of David who criticised David for dancing when the Ark of the Covenant came to Jerusalem was barren and childless for the rest of her life. Tell them to look that up in the book of Kings (not sure whether it's in 1 Kings or 2 Kings).
I base what I listen to first on lyrical integrity then on musical technique (yes, I'm a music snob :p). And I tell you the truth, 99.99% of Trance will pass both tests. The exceptions are few and far between (although, as with any genre of music, there will be exceptions.) So if you say your folks would let you listen to pimp rap or gangsta rap, but not to EDM, that makes them hypocrites... BIG TIME. And gimps. Because they're basing their stance on baseless (and likely un-Biblical) superstition.
I'll admit I used to be guilty of such narrow-mindedness, but that was when I was 7 or 8 years old :p A lot can change in 14 years.
(most) Music ain't immoral. Sanctimony? You bet it is. |
