Craziest Liquid Ever (pg. 2)

I learned how to glide before I got into the rave scene, not as good as that, but I'm sure with a little work I can figure out and work what he's got. Actually, I wanted to work gliding into liquid and use it as my style, but I'm more worried about my arms, hands and upper body than I am my glides, and this is the first time I've seen it all rolled into one spectacular package.

The dance style is actually called, "Popping" and it's been around for years!
Do a google for, "Popping" and you'll find some more videos as well ;)

Seriosuly though, that was awesome! :tongue2

Anyone know the song though? I liked it...

it's a mash of a bunch of styles, including popping.

figured I'd call it liquid because with those hand movements most people here would call it that.

Either way, I've got a lot of learning to do.

Have you been to a popping site?:conf:
The hand movements are indicitive of popping and nothing new at all!
Sure they've put a new label on it, "Liquid" but that's because it's easier to recognize than if I was describing, "Popping" which doesn't sound like what it represents at all.
"Liquid" may sound and look more accurate, but in the end, it's still, "Popping". ;)

a lot of people say that liquid is just a subset of popping, but really the styles are so close together that popping and liquid are pretty much one and the same.

but regardless, he does a lot of glides, which themselves are an earlier form of dance that used to be known as 'airwalking', niether liquid or popping. He also uses a bunch of waving techniques which are usually associated with the liquid style, and not popping. The thing is, all these styles are so intermixed now it's impossible to call it just this style or that style. It's just this guy with an afro's style when he dances, and nothing more. I used the term 'liquid' because when viewing this video, most people on these boards would associate that word to this style of dancing. Popping is more of a b-boy thing, and this site doesn't have nearly as many b-boys as it does ravers.

The music has changed but you're right, it's all the same.

I've always wanted to learn more moves like that too; especially the waving techniques; damn!
The leg thing I think I could get down with a little more practice but I'd have to watch someone do it live.
I used to watch a LOT of guys popping and sliding back in the day and emulated them pretty well but some were just amazing.
Unless I saw them on a weekly basis to practice to da beat, and hawk-eye watch their moves, I was left experimenting and sometimes you create your own thing.
How bout some eye-popping? :eyespop:

:p
Funkyfun
Can this guy move or what :eyes: ...Great clip indeed.... :)

I am going to try - waiting to see what the August lineup is like first. Would be sick to find a great show at System to get together for...lol

Not so great ... first guy, his fingers are touching. When you liquid they gotta try to spread far apart.

Second guy is a joke.

Liquiding is not my thing, I found it very boring after a month or two of learning it. The liquiding theory, one hand most follow the other like piece of string with two ends. If one end does a curve or a turn, the other end must follow it at a different time. This include arm, leg, hat and etc.

Find Eric from the Liquid Pop Collective, he'll school loser without even trying ... you can get from Kazaa and LimeWire. There's one video of Eric liquiding and in the background there was some arcade machine ... that's the one that really set the standards really high.

These video were made in 1999, when liquiding was popular.
