July 2005 Mix - DJ Metatron - Classic Trance Tribute [progressive]

Okay here it is... finally! I decided to do a tribute mix with all of the great trance tunes from the 'emerging' period. Anyone who has followed trance since the late 90's should know these tracks well. Mostly from 1999 to 2001. I didn't use some of the obvious tracks (e.g. Silence) and maybe a couple seem a bit obscure to you. But, every track I've included here is very important to me. Probably some of the best trance tunes ever created in this mix and you would do well to know them if you don't. One of my favorites is Altitude - Night Stalker; that tune is really timeless and I wouldn't be afraid to drop it into any set nowadays. Also Tiesto's remix of Delerium - Innocente, wow, this if by far my favorite remix of a Delerium song and is one the best remixes Tiesto has ever done IMO, tune still blows me away. But really every tune here still does; otherwise it wouldn’t be here. Anyways this mix was a real bitch, I had a hell of a time trying to find all the tunes and especially the right mixes of the tunes. On top of that these tunes were especially hard for me to mix for two reasons. One, a lot of the tunes are album rips or just have unorthodox intros and endings and two, I have incredible respect for these productions and I was major stressed out to make each mix perfect and flawless. I wanted to make somewhat of the definative classic trance mix, and I hope you enjoy.

So I hope this project turned out ok. I think it did, it's definitely not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it. It's something I can listen to experience those great tune again without hunting down some set from 2000. The reason I chose an old school mix is mostly because at the time (when I had the idea) I was really into listening to older Oakey sets. I had gotten a hold of a collection of EMs from 1999 and and some sets from 2000 and 2001. So I felt this was something I had to do. Get out of my system, of sorts. Anyway please download and enjoy. I mean theres not a whole lot to comment on when it comes to tracklist, but you could comment on the mixing or whatever. Or just that you enjoyed it or not I guess. Thanks :D |

| amazing tracklist. how did you do the recording? i uses my brothers pc to to record to the other day, he has some sound blaster audigy sound card, quality was great. seems to be some of that krinkling in this, thats about it though. |

I record with Traktor DJ Studio using mp3 or wav files. I don't know what the 'krinkling' you're talking about is but I am looking into getting my comp set up so I can record from my decks. Basically all I need is a good sound card, maybe external (which is recommended from what I hear), to hook it up.

There's nothing new abotu the tracklist, you are right, but it was very nice to listen to all this tracks mixed by you, it has been a long time i didnt listen to this track, and bring back nice memories.
And I know it wasn't Easy, as you said to had to use rips, I know the first one was ripped from Oakeys' Another World cd2,Very nice song, and actually it sounded like a 3 mixing decks, coz i can listen to song to the siren, Eugina, and Rendezvous at the same time.
The mix just keeps flowing on and on,and all are great tracks (10/10).
