Decided to attend the Dallas show since it was on a Friday and I can also visit family and whatnot. I was hoping to get in when JXL started, but horrible traffic prevented me from parking for a long while. The will call line was lengthy too. You might as well spend the extra 2 dollars. But I was able to catch a decent portion of JXL, and he delivered. Some tunes I recognized:
Sasha vs Junkie XL ft Saffron - Beauty Never Fades
Scissor Sisters - Mary (Junkie XL Remix)
Beastie Boys - Fight for your Right (to Party)(Junkie XL Remix)
Then Oakenfold came up. Judging from what I heard, his playlist has changed very little, which is horribly disappointing. But then again, it's Oakenfold. From what I remember, he played the following:
Tiesto - Traffic <-- Oakenfold's staple tune for all his sets
Ferry Corsten - Sweet Sorrow (Thrillseekers Remix)
Three Drives - Greece 2000
Gabriel & Dresden - Arcadia
Mark Norman - Rush
Mark Norman - Overkill
Igor S - Boomerang (Igor S Mix)
Robert Gitelman - Children of the Sun
Yilmaz Altanhan - Eighties
Finally, Armin steps up and he delivered. This is the first time I've seen him live, and I'm glad he did. I had to leave a bit early, but for the time I was there he played:
Peter Martin pres Anthanasia - Simply Blue
Andy Moor - Halcyon
Armin van Buuren vs Gabriel & Dresden - ZoCalo
LSG - Netherworld 2005 (Oliver Prime Remix)
Purple Haze - Adrenaline
Armin van Buuren - Shivers
MIKE - Massive Motion
The only problem I had with the venue is that it was hot as hell in there (like twice as bad as Liquid was). Water costed $3 per bottle...now that's insane. And my last problem was the speaker system wasn't setup well. The majority of the time, I was hearing nothing but the reverbing bassline with distorted treble melodies. I was able to ID songs when the breakdowns occurred.
But other than that, it was one hell of a night. |

omg guys...wow. As I was standing in line buying my ticket, I was already dancing! Hands down, the best time of my life! I walked into the main room and I saw that hat, and I knew it was Junkie! I thought for sure my friends and I were going to miss Junkie completely.
Its hard for me to say which DJ I enjoyed the most. I knew I recognized a lot of the tracks but the bass was hitting so hard, or maybe it was the alcohol, but for life of me I couldn't come up with the names of the tracks.
I loved when Oakey played I Like the Way You Move! Did Armin play Ferry Corsten - Sublime?
I was up front wearing a grey abercrombie shirt, anybody see me? I had to be taller than most everyone. I was sharing my cigs with everyone. My friend was the Mexican guy body surfing. lol!
That was my first time seeing any DJ live, so I guess you could say I picked a good night for my first time. I came out of that place looking like I had jumped in a pool with my clothes on, no exageration. I danced my ass off. So when is the next one of these? |

Haha, I saw your friend doing the bodysurfing! It was going great for the first 10 seconds until the people in the front kinda gave up. Just keep checking on the forums for events.

We got there in the middle of Junkie XL's set. IMO his set was amazing. Its hard for me to explain how he worked the crowd. He was singing along with the crowd and playing air guitar. I wanted him to keep going but it was time for Paul to come on.
I don't understand why there was no transition into Paul's set. After Junkie, there was no music for about 5-10 minutes.
Paul's set was OK, we spent most of his set outside cooling down from Junkie set. It seemed like his first hour was kind of slow, not as much enegry as Junkie. He did pick it up a bit in his last hour. The video playing behind him was really cool.
Armin's set was nothing like his ASOT mixes. It was harder and felt more powerful. I really liked how he would build it up and hold it there for a moment. You could see the crowd just begging for him to let them go.
I was completely sober, designated driver, but he made me feel like I was rolling. The man is a genius. |

I believe it may have been the Alex MORPH remix. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. |

That's what he played in Houston, so I'm guessing you are correct. |

I think it was the same mix as AVB played at SENSATION WHITE this Yr.
I got the set from DM2k.com. Most of the tracks he played there were played at Forest Theater. It was an awesome night!!! |
