this is a joke right? i'll put them on right now, but if memory serves me well, these were released in 94 or 95 (on beyond records and later waveform) and they were more ambient than trance. hypnotic sounding yes, but pulsating move-your-ass-and-bob-your-head trance, not.

someone should distinguish trance before producers introdced the heavy bassline in the mid to lat 90s. does anyone know which track was among the first ones with it?

No, Pleidean Communication is "classic" trance: it has a lower BPM than your favorite Ferry Corsten cut, but that doesn't matter. And the other is "psybient" "ambient psy" "psy ambient" whatever they call it.

I think that's supposed to be Rob Searle Remix, a quick check on discogs and I couldn't find a remix by Oakey. He did spin it once though, and it may have been on one of his compilations.

Progressive trance? Like Three Drives on a Vinyl - Greece 2000? Not sure what he means, either.

Astrix as a perfect psy example is a terrible example. he is more melodic trance than real psytrance.

it does. i'm listening to it right now and call it 126 bpm. it's not trance.

don't misintepret this as my belief that "pleidean communication" sucks, but i believe that there are a lot more worthy candidates (which i'll post soon).
