Whats up with MSN users lately?

Oh man
Lately some of my friends have been doing some quite annoyting things with their msn.
Like when they say "hello" it comes with all sorts of colours and flashes the hell out of me. same with letters, if a guy/girl writes "mm" it comes up as two big green m's or any other colours, it depends on the person Im chatting with.
WHY? is this supposed to be cool or anything, its just fricking annoying and it "slows" down the conversation, cause it takes time to load them, at least on my comp (which is pretty good)
Or has this been around for a long time? maybe it is just norway thats "way back"

| When I tried to update to MSN 7.0 I got an error message saying "Cannot find Unicows.dll" or some . I checked my System32 folder and the file was there so I have no idea what it was playing at. I tried to downgrade to 6.x but still got the error. So now I'm using v5.0. |

all these new flash smiley things, the nudge thing, pictures, spaces and all this other crap that i never use
im thinking about downgrading my msn and turn off the updates |

| i got new msn,but i got a programme to blocked all that stuff happening like nudges n stuff :D but i know what you mean by the stupid colours on letters it is pretty annoying |
