I know two songs that could be mixed together.

I *think* they would go together really well; they do in my head at least.

Anaconda - Sound Of Love (Staccato Vs. Blue Nature Remix)

and

O-zone - Dragnostea Din Tei

If you hear that mix of Sound Of Love and the original Drag. DT, you should be able to hear that they would probably go together.

I just want to see what it sounds like, but I have not got a clue how to mix anything - I'm not a DJ and I haven't any software. Even if I had the software, I wouldn't know how to use it anyway.

Can anyone here mix the two tracks a bit?

If you have the songs in a digital format, you can mix the two with Audacity, a freeware tool.

I don't have the songs, and I have no desire to procure them, so I won't be mixing them for you..

I'll give it a go. If I even get to the point of them mixing, it'll be a laugh to see how I screw this up.

Thanks for the toolage.

No I didn't. I don't think you caught the jist of my post, I didn't say I particularly liked the song I said it would mix well with the other song, which I just heard of. I heard of O-Zone's song ages ago.

Audacity for mixing?!

isnt Audacity a SoundForge type program for recording/editing?

yes it is

mmmmm SoundForge. I know how to use that.

again, which is why i dont understand. i've used SF for mixing, and its abusively tedious, NOT made for that, and, furthermore, if he doesn't have basic DJ knowledge, mixing them in Audacity/SF will just be a pain in the head.

you'd need to time stretch one track to be the other's exact same tempo, which can only be done accurately by selecting 4 beats and listening to them on repeat, to make sure they create a perfect loop, jotting down the time between each beat, then doing the same to the other track to adjust track A to track B's timing, then, using mixpasting and fade in/fade out effects, he could create a mix, which without EQs, would sound quite mechanical too.

in other words, itll be a long process of trial and error, and the outcome still will probably not sound like your common, every-day DJ mix.

dude, just hit up the DJ booth and ask someone to mix it for you. i'm pretty sure if you ask nicely, that someone might help you out.

You can also simultaneously play audio clips and automate some settings, making it like acid.

Inertia
yeh, but wouldnt that come out in a dastardly ugly trainwreck?

Beat match visually with the provided waveform or do it by trial an error. Use math to calculate the difference in tempo and use the provided effects and filters to alter as necessary.

I dont really recommend using Audaicty over something like Acid Pro, but its freeware. Not everyone has the money to spend on comercialware
