Moderate spoilers.
All in all, I was very impressed with this book. After book five which seemed rather rushed and incomplete, Rowling took a quantum leap forward in style, story telling, and plot development. Rather than hit us over the head with teenage relationships, she let them develop naturally (except for Ron and Hermione in the middle) the scene with Harry and Ginny was done perfectly, and the ending, as usual, was superbly conducted.
This is probably my favorite book in the series, though I also really liked the Fourth installation. Nicely done crescendo all in all for the seventh novel, which I'd love to see out sooner rather than later. Much better than the Dark Tower series' sixth book (though overall there is no comparisson, conversly speaking.) If Rowling can avoid the melodrama, common cliches, and redundant moral passing, The Harry Potter series could still to shape up to be one of literature's most notable planned series. |

| I admit, I'm suffering from Post-Potter-Depression, but I was kind of disappointed. Too mushy. Not enough plot moving forward. I feel like we're stuck now, and that the last book is going to be too full of good stuff. Looking forward to the next book, tho. |
