| Hi im new here, ive been doing trance for about 3 years so I recently bought a virus rack XL. Now everthings plugged, my midi controller keyboards is having problems but thats not my concern. My virus works and all and with cubase I can write midi tracks and the virus plays it. However i have no idea how to program it as to set different instruments on each channel so i can have multiple midi tracks, and how do I record those midi tracks once I am finished writing them. If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it. |

You have to use multi-mode. It says it in the manual if you have one. if not get it off the access site.
TO record the midi tracks, you have to set an audio track for it, with the correct in/out. Set it up through vst connections and whatever mixer you have, duno what soundcard you have, |

| I do not have a mixer, and my soundcard is a audiophile 2496. My virus is directly plugged into it via midi and my virus is plugged into my speakers. My audio tracks only have as in out options Stereo in and out. |

You might be able to monitor the virus through your computer. Send the audio from the virus to the input on the 2496 and the outputs on the 2496 to your speakers. Do a search for monitoring in cubase or RTFM :) also check the soundcard documentation as you MAY be able to use the soundcards mixer to bypass the host completely and send the input straight to the output. With some its easier than others, depends on the card you are using.
Failing that, your going to need to get some sort of a mixer so you can send output to your speakers and back to your PC for the virus so you can record it. Spirit make some very cheap 4 track mixers these days. |
