I was going to show my disgust with a thread last night, but was hoping to avoid the slagging altogether.

In all my years of being a celtic supporter, I've never been so humiliated as last night. It's almost as bad as the rangers 9 in a row years. At least then there was a bit of fight in the team.

the problem is the level of player attracted to a club like celtic now due to the poor league they're in, the only way they'll improve long term is in the premier league & they're not wanted there by a lot of people anyway

quite frankly i would love to see celtic and rangers in the EPL ...

after last nights performance they dont even deserve to be in the championship let alont the EPL.

it's the other teams in the CPL that are crap, that's why celtic and ranger become crap

with the players they have, if they were in the EPL they would always be in the top 7 or 8 i would say

bitches

The possibilities for celtic and rangers, were they granted a move south of the border, would be almost endless. We already have better stadia than the mjority of teams in the epl and a much larger fan base. Glasgow is a great city too, with plenty to do and see, however no really good players want to come to our league to play games at clubs like falkirk or inverness caley thistle.

IMO the epl is a pipe dream. The club's down there simply don't want us as ian says. The only way it could go thru is if sky want to push it. If celtic were in the EPL then they would easily attract the top players in the game, and it would only be a matter of time before they challenged for silver ware, sadly tho, it's not going to happen.

As for last nights performance, well I'm just speechless, it was pretty much the same team as o'neil had built barring three players. Mo camara was awful, I'd say the worst performance i've seen from someone in a celtic shirt in the time i've supported them. Telfer tried hard, but he's too old and slow and he couldn't keep up with the game. Zuravski got absolutely no service whatsoever, i think he could be a really decent player, but not in that system that strachan was playing.

The biggest let down for me was the older team members, such as thompson, petrov, lennon, hartson and balde. They all looked lost without the guidance of wee martin on the sidelines.

I said when we brought strachan in that he wasn't the right man for the job, and I think last night proved me right, he seems tactically inept and some of his signings have been questionable to say the least. If we loose on saturday to the team who broke our hearts at the end of last season, then I don't know what we are going to do. I can't see us overturning the 5-0 deficit in this tie, altho there have been some great european nights at parkhead in recent times.

Here's hoping:)

Is there any chance England football competitions could merge alltogether with the Scottish ones, eventually with Wales and Northern Ireland? It'd be more logical instead of allowing exceptions I think. Although probably most people would be against it after such a long history of this separation. But they could like.. unite the first two divisions (the EPL and the league right below it would have teams from all the 4 countries) and from there below have completely separate competitions for the 4. To keep the "separatistic" feeling the cups could also all be kept separate.

Then again i'm outside of the UK reality, this could sound silly for you people.. and i'm sure this has been thought of, but it's the best solution in my opinion.
