This sucks. One day, my internet's so fast. Torrents are fast, browsing is fast, soulseek is fast. Today, it's SOO slow. Loading up a thread takes on average 5 whole minutes. Pictures take minutes to load. Torrents are ing slow. When I try to download the latest version of firefox, it downloads at 2kb/s.

What gives?!?!

Oh. MSN works fine except file transfers are slow.

Are you on Rogers? It seems that after downloading each successive season of Top Gear (some 3-4GB each), for the next few days it feels like my connection has been throttled somewhat.

I don't know if this is the case, but if so, they're ******s.

do you have access to your router??

have a look at how many sessions are open.. if when you are doing nothing online there are tons of connections still occuring, you might have picked up a spamming trojan/virus..

if not, Rogers could be the culprit.. you are sharing bandwidth with your neighbours so if everyone is online and downloading at the same time you will notice slower performance..

i'm not sure if you guys are aware, but running torrents is a MAJOR slowdown for your connection. even if its not uploading at your connections max speed, you will still see a HUGE performance decrease in everything else

I'm on sympatico. Funny enough this all happened after I got a pretty bad power surge after a storm. Could the router be facked?

reboot the router just to be sure..

also if you use a switch or hub, power off & power back on.

in sympatico. ive had so many problems with them + routers.

Same it would be fast sometimes, slow ass the next. They obvioulsy refuse to help.

Found a few solutions. If you cant find a fix, PM me, and ill show what you i did to 'solve' my problems.
