I'm a sucker for guys like Steve Vai or John Petrucci. They can play a lot of the things that Yngwie plays but they are infinitely more diverse.

yeah, his arpeggios are the same as back in 84, when he started this whole thing. but his recent (well, like starting back from 99/2000) trciks with delay, volume knobs and tone shifting effects, where his play seems like two violins playing, that's totally unbelievable. have to agree tho, Steve Vai is probably the most experimental on his sound. And Joe Satriani plays most "cleanly", never producing any unnecessary sounds.

but the most influence on me was probably Richie Blackmore... To bad he has his musical development arrested backin 70ies, and now is totally unnoticable:(. but back in Deep Purple days, he was the .

my friend and i dropped together, around the dorms late at night, we were jus chillin walking around waiting for it to kick. we both turned the corner to a long hallway, and we had the whole matrix wave thing going on all of a sudden. we looked at each other.. ":wtf:"

"that's not normal." and that was all we said and we kept walking.

heh. only got my hands on it once.

Hendrix was badass as , but I wouldn't call him the best.

Clapton is technically amazing.. along with Stevie Ray Vaughn. However, I agree.. nobody beats Hendrix' soul in his playing. Malmstein is great technically, but I really can't stand to listen to any of his music. :)

Satriani is one I meant to mention but just forgot. I have a dvd of the G3 tour (which was Vai, Satriani and Malmsteen) and its freaking ridiculous. I'm gonna watch it again tomorrow.

Listening to some Dream Theater (John Petrucci) now. These guys are amazing musicians!!!!

Jealousy! I still haven't seen that DVD, and I really enjoy music by all three as they all have their individual styles. Satch is the winner for me though! :D
