Robert Miles - Children (Demilio Remix)
View this Thread in Original format
Demilio
Every year I make a remix of this song to se if I have gained progress in producing music. This time the song made it to a 7 minute long soundproof track with a touch og house in it.

Do you like it?

This is not the best song to remix because it's kinda "holy". Robert Miles is a legend, so why dont learn from him :)

Hope you like the remix. Please tell me what you think

PS : There is something new in the end of the song.. Maybe my next single??? who knowes ;)

Your piano sounds neat!!!

Very cool updated version of the original. Very well produced also. Nice job.

Didn't really like the buildup. Feels a bit forced without the snare rolls. I like the piano. The changes in octaves add some originality. I like how you kept the old mid-90s style bass hit. Pretty nice job overall.

I like it! Its a bit JS16-ish which isnt a bad thing!

Hey mate,

Nice bass, when the kick is introduced. My concern here is with the hi hat, it's panned too much. Doesn't appeal to me.

Getting a little bit boring at 2mins...

You use delay well in the breakdown.

A little bit repetitive and boring for my tastes.

Good luck with it :)

this is really nice.

i prefer it to the original!

would prefer it if it was more mix friendly. without the melody on its own at the beginning. just like a beat to mix into...

also the breaks are nice but could be more subtle maybe just using a submelody and the bassline.

save the main melody for the second main section and just use the bassline in the first to prevent the melody losing its appeal too early.

the beat is nice. it keeps the vibe from the original but makes it sound more sophisticated. proggy feel to the beat.

love it!

Hey,

Nice piano and saw pad, the harp and orchestral effects are great to. Kick in >>> nice kick and percussion use, the percs are a treat. They are a bit loud and the main piano dissapears with all other main elements. Nice lead work too. This is great, use more effects on the crashes to make them last a bit longer and effects, effects, effects...

Nice work, Keep it up.
Terry.

Yeah i really like this - very cool remix of a song that honestly I cant see what all the fuss was about it. But I do like this.

Even though it relies heavily on the awesome melody of the original... This is still very nice. You manage to take it in some newer directions - which make it a very pleasant listen.
