Junkie XL @ Vision 8/6/05: Roll call
View this Thread in Original format

So, I figured it was about time to spread this news and see who's going. I'm pretty damn excited about this Dutchman coming to town. I have seen Junkie XL a few times, most notably twice @ Ultra Fest during the WMC. I think anyone who has seen him will agree he puts on a killer show. He is known for his deep, rolling melodies and driving baselines--in my opinion along the same lines as Gabriel & Dresden.

This will be a great show for all the TAs and it's also the prelude to my 30th birthday (ugh, lol). Here are a few of my fav Junkie XL tracks:

*JXL - Perfect Blue Sky (ft. Robert Smith of The Cure) --absolute fav of JXL's!
*JXL ft. Sasha- Beauty Never Fades -- one of my all-time favs
*Matt Hales - UR (Junkie XL Air Guitar remix) -- this is one Tiesto's new CD, In Search of Sunrise 4. Outstanding vocals.
*JXL ft. Sasha - Breezer --this is on Deep Dish's GU 25 Toronto. Classic!
*Sister Scissors - Mary (JXL remix)
*Dave Gahan (former lead singer of Depeche Mode) - Dirty Sticky Floors --amazing driving baseline
*JXL - Red pill, blue pill --opened his set @ WMC with this in 2004, holy s**t!
*Sarah McLachlan - World On Fire (Junkie XL Remix) --this is on Gabriel & Dresden's Bloom. Enough said!
*JXL - Aquaman
*Conjure One - Center of the Sun (Junkie XL Mix)
*Infusion - Legacy (Junkie XL Remix) --on Oakey's Great Wall
*Junkie XL - Nightmares (Ft. Infusion)

Anyone else have some favs? If you haven't heard his stuff, you should check out the above tracks. Here's his homepage: http://www.radiojxl.com/

Definitely hope everyone can make it! And Seneca, Christen, and JenniferRene are in charge of bringing the cameras:D

I was just surfing through his website (http://www.radiojxl.com) and there is a link on the bottom right of his homepage in the "breaking news" section to a video of him @ the 2004 Ultra Fest in Miami spinning "Breezer" and "Beauty Never Fades".

This video F**KING rocks! Insane! If you want to see a glimpse of him live, check it out. He's quite the entertainer and the crowd is going absolutely crazy. You'll see why I wouldn't miss this show....and it will definitely make you want to go the Ultra Fest/WMC. Woo Hoo! Can't wait for March!

Hi James,

Don't count on me for bringing a camera to this show because I don't think I'll make it. I've wanted to see Junkie XL for a while but after the past few weekends with Lee, Sander and this past weekend I need a break. :) August is my month of relaxation and then in September it's on - celebrating my birthday! Hope you guys have a great time which I'm sure you will! I'm sure I'll see you soon. And yes, can't wait for March 2006!!! :)

P.S. - Happy 30th!!! :)

Well, besides the fact that it's true, I knew this might be the clincher for you;)

Also, we all having a pre-party meet up? If not, I say we meet on the left side of the DJ booth like we have in the past.

my guess - JXL will be on the stage, in which case i'll most likely spend the majority of my night either on the floor or on the balcony overlooking the stage (on the right-hand side if you're looking up from the dance floor). we'll see.

i'm down for a meet-up beforehand if enough people want to do it. :)

I actually hope JXL is on the stage, and if that's the case, I think we'll be right there... You gotta see this guy up close, on stage he is simply rediiculase...
