In a poll conducted by Spanish newspaper Marca, the former Liverpool player was given next to no hope of seeing first team action next season. Instead, the vast majority of fans predicted that Owen would only feature in the Spanish Cup.

Owen has effectively been demoted to fifth choice striker after the capture of Brazilian duo Robinho and Julio Baptista and will now be carefully considering his options.

Altho Newcastle being linked with Owen, very slim chance of Owen going to Newcastle as they cant offer champion league appearance to him.

Owen has all the right reasons to leave, but for anyone who thinks we bought Baptista to sit on the bench with Owen for the striker position, let me ask you... what position did he start off as with Sevilla?

And BTW, Robinho will play on the left drifting towards the center with Zizou.

Owen will be back in England...Liverpool and Arsenal have no interest...Man U is in the driver's seat for Owen. I read that Real want to make a profit on the price that they paid for Owen (7 or 8 million pounds I think it was). So i can see them asking 10 million pounds for him. Man U will have one of the deadliest strike forces in the world...Owen, Van Nistoolroy, Rooney, Saha, Smith, and maybe Ole Gunner if he's fit. That's 6 internationals...WOW. (5 if Man U are actually serious about trying to use Alan Smith as a replacement for Mr. Keane.) Not bad for a team that had trouble fielding two healthy strikers last year.

Baptista has proven that he can score in La Liga, but Robinho hasn't. Brazilian League defenses are far from those that a represented in La Liga, and it will be interesting to see how Robinho reacts. I think that by the Winter transfer window, if Robinho and Baptista are doing well and starting, you will see Ronaldo voice his unhappiness and likely see a move. Like Spaniard said, these players were not brought in to sit. They will play, and play often. I can see a lot of unhappy campers at Real if Raul, Ronaldo, Figo, and Guti ride the bench...

Michael owens face on hearing the news baptista has signed for real

Real have an excellent strike force, but the rest of their team is lacking something. Zidane isn't what he used to be. The defence is still rubbish, I don't think they'll win anything this season.

They can sign whoever they want for their strike force the still wont beat Barca this year. The defender situation is crap they just sold Samuel who probably will turn it around this season.:haha: Real makes me laugh although I hear they are close to Rio now...

wow this is last season all over again...
but really if Owen leaves thatll be it for the problem, A team like MAdrid who plays champions league and la liga and with their money, you cant blame them for getting deph.
Owens the only loser in this saga, well not really cuase he ll go to MANU...where they have Rooney and Ruud and etc already and he ll get playing time ? :wtf:
