Okay, i know that 4 beats is called a measure. But what is 4 groups of 4 beats, or 8 groups of 4 beats called, and so on and so forth?? I just want to better know how to explain myself when discussing mixing techniques w/ other DJ's.

4 groups of 4 beats are 4 measures i reckon!
I don't think it has a specific name, but you could refer to one complete cycle of the "melody" as a -loop- or -pattern-
not that those terms are reserved for that or sumpin |
