Looking to sell a DJM-500 (black)

Hey everyone,

I'll start by saying that I'm aware of the buy/sell forum. I'm posting this here because I'd far far far prefer to sell to someone local who can try before they buy etc.

I have a pioneer DJM-500 mixer I'm looking to sell. I've owned it for about 2 years now. It's always been used for bedroom DJ use. It's never played in a club, or had anything split into it. All the effects, faders, knobs, eq's are all still there and 100% functional. I'm looking to sell to upgrade to a mixer with MIDI capability and no other reason. I've had a quick look online and found Prices to vary from about $1300 - $1700 Canadian.

good vibrations $1700

DJMR is selling theirs for $1500

Moog audio has them on for 1300

I'm looking to get about $700 for it. I'm willing to barter on the price if the mixer is going to go to a good home. If anyone is interested they can PM me and we can talk further. I'm totally okay with someone coming over and trying it out first for however long they like. I have it currently hooked up to 2X technics 1200, 1 CDJ-1000MK2, final scratch, EFX-500 and my computer. So with everything hooked up you should be able to try all the features etc. If anyone wants buyer protection that ebay offers I could post it there if you like.

I would also think about a trade/credit towards either a good labtop either mac or PC, or a CDJ-1000mk2.

Hope someone out there needs one!

I'm looking for a 4-channel mixer, but not too much the Pioneers, cuz everybody has that thing.

I'm actually wondering if moog audio or L&M or Steve's will let you trade up and pay the difference if need be... for a new mixer. They would prolly put your old DJM 500 into the used sales section or rentals section.

if only you posted this a month ago.

700 is a pretty fair price for a used 500. i think thats what they normally go for on tribe buy/sell.

i will pass this along to my buddy dennis, i think he may be interested.

Yah I figured somewhere around $700 would be a fair price. Thanks for passing on the info to your freind. It's a pretty ideal starter mixer for anyone who might want to add equipement in the future.

I would, but the ecler mixers don't have enough metering for my taste.. I'm an audiophile who likes to avoid distortion at all times!

You got PM
Soundwerks
heres a NUO5 (5-channel, FX, MIDI out, magnetic x-fader)

heres a NUO4 (4-channels, assignable x-fader, MIDI controller built in witht 72 MIDI commands)

The metering is good on both...you have a dedicated dual VU meter for the MASTER output, and a PFL meter for your CUE. So whichever channel you have in CUE will show up on the PFL VU meter ;)

The mixer is still available if anyone is interested

This seems to be the case with a lot of people. Perhaps we need a local For Sale/Wanted forum?

I want one for 2 weeks. I'll put at least 50 hours of use into it and post a complete review + recordings with it (from more than one TA DJ).

Let me know how arrange it.
