| Hello, ladies and fellas. I'm a new member. I love electronic music especially vocal trance and the hype trance with strong bass and "thumps". Anyways, can anyone help me classify this type of electronic music that has a medium tempo and mostly the same tempo as trance and has strong bass. The tempo isnt that crazy and by crazy, the tempo isnt super fast like drum and bass or jungle. But,the main thing I like about this music is the middle part where the producer/DJ uses a dark, deep voice that sometimes may have explicit lyrics. The dark voice has a quiet background which is mostly followed by slow to medium music with strong bass. It may be considered as "Hard House/Trance" but I'm not sure. Thanks and I hope anyone can help me classify this music. Also, if anyone answers my question, can you name any artists or dj's i should look up and find their music. I heard this type of music at a bowling alley in NJ. I know I should've asked the DJ but it may seem too weird. Hope I get some replies!!! Thanks.... |

What you're describing seems to me to most closely resemble progressive house. You noted that it's got a slower tempo than trance, so it's definitely not hard house. Plus, the meatier driving basslines are a good indicator. A few recommendations I can make that are a bit 'explicit':
PQM - You Are Sleeping (PQM meets Luke Chable Vocal Pass) [Yooshi]
Oxygen ft. Ariel Cybana - Inside Me (Barry Gilbey/Martin Accorsi Remixes) [Release Grooves]

Strong bass, with a slower tempo would describe progressive stuff, such as prog trance and house. try some
Habersham and Numinous, the tracks i've heard have nice deep bass but with few vocals, with a darker sound.
Trance:
Ben Camp - Timewreck (Mara Remix) - deep and dark sound.
Chris Domingo - Darklight (Thomas Penton Mix)
Skinny Monkey - Heavy Vinyl (Kasey Taylor And Luke Chable Remix)
Habersham * Numinous - Rhetorical Question - some vocals, good bass
House:
Tony Thomas, makes some deep house.
Gift- Mental Motion (Thomas Penton Remix) - vocals say, "where the f*cks everybody go... please don't go..." |

| Thanks Guys. I checked out this one site dancerecords.com and audiojelly.com and I think the music that I'm seeking is Hard House and Progressive house and probably Tech Trance. The one song that sums it up for me is "Scott Mac- Watchin'You" at dancerecords.com or something like "Benny Bennasi-Satisfaction". Hope to get more inquiries.... |
