The legendary Swansea-based duo return to Adelaide, live and intimate for one night only at Black Cat Nightclub. Meeting sometime in the early-90’s while working the British DJ circuit, who would have thought that their debut album, ‘Wide Angle,’ (1999) would launch Mike Truman and Chris Healings, into a stratosphere occupied by few others, surprising anyone who thinks that dance music can’t be clever, challenging and musically astute. Recorded in London, New York and Moscow with the Russian Federal Orchestra, their unique blend of slamming dance rhythms and classical orchestration earned them a US live tour supporting Moby (2000) that was met with rapturous applause at every stop (including celebrity groupies The X-Files’ Gillian Anderson and rocker Tommy Lee) that cemented their reputation as one of the hottest acts in dance music. Criss-crossing genres with their ‘hybrid’ breaks meets progressive house and trance sound, they have become one of the most sought after remixers in the world, putting their production skills to use on tracks for artists as varied as Jazzy Jeff, Carl Cox, Alanis Morissette Future Sound of London and Radiohead. The second album, ‘Morning Sci-Fi’ (2003) was the next ingenious step forward, crafting new influences around their ever-mutating breakbeat sound. However, their ‘Hybrid presents Y4K’ (2004) mix for Distinctive brought Mike and Chris back to where it all began, being not only their first ever mix compilation, but an opportunity to capture the explosiveness of their live show in a DJ set.
