Theres this thing thats been buggin me, probably for the past 2 years. And thats tunes that sound like other tunes.
EG. Mario Piu - The Vision and MArc Et CLaude's - Lovin U (Ratty REmix) Don't the bass synths sound remarkably similar?
How about Allure - No More Tears, Blank and Jones - DJ's Fans and Freaks AND Members of Mayday - 10 in 1? They all share such similar melodies!
Its good when producers use there own synths on remixes of other tunes, cos its like there own signiture on the music. But it really annoys me when I hear a tune, think "I've heard that before" and try and find it on the B-side of one of your records, and end up finding bugger all!
Favourites of mine are Tiesto- Urban Train, Velvet Moods (remix) Silence, (remix) Sunrise (remix), as they all include bits from each other. (u'll no what I mean!)
What do u lot think about all this, and what other tunes have u heard that are pratically the same? |

| vdm-shamu(armin van buuren remix) and push-strange world(2000 remake) sound very similar. shamu is a little faster than strange world other than that they sound the same. |

I dont mind when pieces of the same melody and bassline are used in tracks created by the same producer, but it seems very "un-original" when things begin to sound all the same...and i hate it when people tell me that about electronic music..
My example:
Alibi-Eternity & TranquilityBase-Razorfish: The synth lines are virtually the same... |

Other remixes that sound the same that I've been thnkning of:
Alice DJ - Better off alone and Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (Signum Remixes)
Lost Witness - Red Sun Rising and The Morrighan - Remember (Lange remixes)
BAlearic Bill - Destination Sunshine , Trance Wave Pres. Moontribe - Dance of The 7th Hill, and all other Magikal Remakes (Tiesto rmx's)
Des Mitchell - Welcome to the DAnce and anything by Airscape (although I don't thnk that couts as one of the producers of Airscape is also part of Des Mitchell!) |

All dumonde tracks sound the same, well at least many of them.
But its very logical that remixes and tracks of the same producer sound the same or have a lot of things in common. |
