Massive list with lots of goodies but i have never been much of a Chicago house nor disco fan. There is alot of tunes i thought about but didn't really approve to be on my list. Maybe i should have.. dunno. I don't really like that many 80s tunes anymore, not even close to the amount i did like 5 or so years ago. Maybe some acid house from various producers + Jarre & Kraftwerk but others get ahead of them for me nowadays. |

Thanks for pointing that out... I knew I'd left something daft in, but I couldn't see it because I'd just wrote it (writers will get my drift there). I'll edit the post now.

To everyone who made a list: It's great to see the recurring classics that everyone seems to like. Every list seems to have Papua on it somewhere, and there's loads of Orbital too. Great stuff.
Other junk:
Rank 1 do get some recognition, as it is their "Deep Dub" of Superstring that gives it such a high placing. Somebody mentioned Out of The Blue, and that's at No. 75
Concerning Jay-Z:
I put it right next to practically the same track, Rhymin' & Stealin'. Both are produced by Rick Rubin and have that hard-edged, minimal hip-hop sound that I love. There is other hip-hop on the chart: House of Pain, and the Leftfield/Roots Manuva collab. |

Yeah, to be honest, I have been strongly influenced by the 1980s decade ... growing up as a young kind in the 1980s in Soviet Union was very memorable. In early 1990s I caught the eurodance/house bug. I know many TAs here would mention cheese, but I dont have any 'cheese' as in euro in my list past year 1999 I think (I stopped listening to euro in 2001, cause it started to go bad). I noticed myself that I am more of a house fan after this chart.
I like your chart too, has lots of great classics that I expected to see from you after remembering your posts :p ;)
Dam ... I thought it was released in '86. Well, some idiot years back told me this ... my bad (dont have vinyl). Even though I have Techno City in MP3 format (but Techno Music by Juan is weaaaaaaaaaaay better)
EDIT: Floorfiller, interesting chart. I just realized Xpander would have probably made it in my list at around #115-120. I missed it when looking through my collection :disbelief |
