dude, get yourself together. You don't have to be like your father, and you can be different.

Ive kinda grown up to be what i wanted to be. When I was a kid I was sure i'd be a baseball & football player like Bo Jackson but i guess i was wrong. Everything so far has turned out OK, except for partying a lil too much & too hard. But I guess I learned from it. Still got some party times to come too. :p

ok heres the solution

stop being an alcoholic, stop smoking, stop cheating.

Ahh...My parents were always complete goody goodies looking to do the right thing in every situation when I was a child.

And now I'm a full out pothead, love to drink, love to pop pills and go in raving...

In my opinion, it's not only your parents that influence you...Every person you meet, every choice you make no matter how big or small it is, it all adds up and shapes you into the person you're destined to become!

My mother is annoyingly zen and I'm slowly becoming just like her.

You're right when you say that little things that happen when you're young affect you greatly later on in life. I guess that having a dad like yours as an example to you as a child has obviously influenced how you deal with your day-to-day problems now. Having said that though, you know exactly where you're going wrong, and you want to change. So if you keep trying to think positive and change your ways, I'm sure you'll end up getting out of those bad habits and be able to live your life how you want to.

28 years old and typing like a 13 year old.

You make the choices that make you who you are today. No one forced you to drink, you made that decision. You made the decision to cheat on your girlfriend. You control your life, no one else. Own up to that fact, and take some responsibility for your actions. I feel no sympathy for you. You can either become a real man, and make the decision to change and become a better person, or you can continue on being a little boy, blaming your father for the choices that you, not your father, made.

Grow up. Act your age.
