SPLITLOOP (Supercharged, Ireland - FIRST NORTH AMERICAN APPEARANCE!!)

This is the act I am putting my money on for the near future. - Annie Nightingale, BBC Radio 1

Against The Grain records are proud to present the awesome debut album from Splitloop, Here On Business. Those of you with a keen ear for breakbeat music should already be aware of this red hot new act from Dublin, those of you not yet in the know pay close attention. Phil & Bren of Splitloop are a fantastically talented and witty duo from Dublin, Ireland who met on a bus on the way to a Prodigy gig and hit it off after discovering a mutual respect for electronic music. Since then they have been locked away in deepest Dublin developing a funk fuelled style of breaks which has won them the respect of The Plump DJ s, Tayo, Krafty Kuts and Soul Of Man amongst others

These boys sure do know how to put a good tune together - DJ Magazine

They have released a plethora of critically acclaimed singles, notched up 5 bookings in the main room at Fabric, appeared on BBC Radio 1 and written what we feel is the best breaks album in sometime. Here On Business is not just a solid collection of block rocking breaks, they have explored alternative routes to making music and have produced a listening experience that flows effortlessly. The album features US rapper Bukue One, African rapper Marvelous (Real Elements) Liz Melody and Canadian MC Curtis Santiago. Expect a cross section of breaks with a splash of downbeat diversity, it really is a corking album

Splitloop are set to blow up - Plump DJ s on BBC Radio 1

The first single from the album On My Mind features a cracking remix from Finger Lickin's Drumattic Twins and will be in stores from 18th July. Soul Roll is the follow up 12 single and will include a Breakfastaz remix of Both knees on the flip and is release on 29th August. The album will be available on CD (mixed) and limited edition double vinyl from at 19th September. However, you will be able to purchase these in advance from the Supercharged Website.
